Farewell to Mortimer...


I'm a rotational player, by now I have over 50 different households. It took me a while to play the Goth family. By then I was surprised to discover that they hated each other. I did not like Mortimer, for many reasons I thought he had destroyed the family :D He was the worst father ever (according to Parenthood GP) In my game Bella and Mortimer got divorced :| But Cassandra and Alexander stayed with Mortimer. Bad choice. They have been the most dysfunctional family in my game :( Cassandra ended up being an enemy of Mortimer. And I mean it: she now is married with Malcolm Landgraab and they already have a daughter, Rebeca:

I kept playing other families before returning with Mortimer to grow up to Alexander into a young adult. I was having fun with Alexander when Mortimer was abducted. I did not care, for sims years, in my game, abductions were useless. In addition, Mortimer was already an elder. But my game had a surprise for me (well, two surprises!!):

I was SO MAD, I had already lost hope of having a little alien by abduction and then my game chose a hated character :s But I like to keep the stories that the game give me because of this random events. I moved Mortimer and the twins to another house, Mortimer married Moira Fyres (already a widow) and raised the two aliens together. I played Mortimer for days until the twins were children. Then I continued playing other households for months... until now.

As a new generation is beginning in my game I start playing Mortimer household again to bring the twins close to adolescence. I took the family to Granite Falls for the weekend and this happened:

Mortimer passed away.

I have a bad habit of ignoring the warnings of the game when I'm having fun :( I thought Mortimer still had a few days to live. At the end he was a good father for the alien twins, he was beloved for once. Autumn starts at Granite Falls, the sky and my sims were so gloomy that they did not even sit down to eat together:

The holidays ended and the household returned to their house. I saved and closed the game. It was weird: for the first time I was sad because a sim die. Maybe at the end I did not hate Mortimer at all :'(

    I love the weird twists and turns sims stories take us on. Its so typical you can't get something and then the character you don't like gets doubly blessed. Moira was a good choice as a step mother for his children - I hope she survives to see them into adolescence. I totally agree with your statement about playing along with the random events the game throws at you.

    Cassandra and Malcolm look a cute couple - is she ok with his evil side?

    That’s one of the things I like about playing the Sims. The random things and situations that happens. I think you felt more for Mortimer when he died because you started out not liking him at first. Love your story by the way :smile:

    Sorry for the delay @Becka28 @Thunderbat87 I lost my own thread! I just discovered it was moved to this categorie :D What a shame, english is not my language :/ and I read great stuff here.

    @Becka28 Moira is so sweet! I feel is the best mother of the premades. Yes, she will see the twins as teens, their birthday was one day left <3 Believe me Cassandra is so OK with Malcolm evil side, she is evil too, and maybe more evil than him. So far he is a sweet father, she does not care that much :o

    @Thunderbat87 I'm a simmer since Sims 2, so many characters have died in my games :D but this time was a shock, maybe I'm getting old or as you say Mortimer won me. I love random things, the last one has changed my main vampire history:

    It was my fault, I sent the wrong sim to fix a sign :'( But the new story is awesome <3
