- internalchaos8 years agoRising TravelerI mainly build, but when I do play I just do various challenges.
- It's always the same for me as well.
I work on a single female sim until I'm satisfied with the way her starter home is decorated. Then I move her to a bigger home and work until that one is decorated nicely as well. By then she's probably at the top of her career and that's when I lose interest most of the time. My neighborhoods are filled with pretty women lol. I don't want to age them up so that they lose their charms, and I don't like playing more than one sim at a time, so I don't play families, which kind of sucks because I did once and it was pretty fun.
I think I deviated from this play style maybe twice. I have filled two worlds with these single sims. I hope the third one will be different. - My play style is generational & rotational. I basically start out with one sim and continue the lineage. I currently am on generation 27 or 28 starting with the first sim I made the day Sims 4 was released. I just love to create generation after generation after generation, etc.
- I delete everything that's premade and generated and make the entire Sim world my own. I'm playing with aging off until I've reached the point where I have enough of my own sims filling all cities and finished building my own venues/houses.
- First off, I evict all the premades (and delete completely the ones I really dislike). Then I bulldoze all the parks in all the world's and add my own parks.
I also tend to bulldoze many other premade builds here and there depending on the safe.
Then I populate the world's with Sims I create either then and there or from my gallery.
I don't have any rules and play freely and mostly on whims (my whims, not my Sims). Sometimes I end up with drama free normal families, other times I end up with a straight up soap opera.
I usually cheat with the money but not excessively since I don't like to play filthy rich Sims usually.
I like rotational play and many times I play with 3 or 4 couples with different careers and livestyles that live in the same neighborhood. They all have children at the same time and are friends that hang out in clubs and do BBQ and dinner parties. Their children grow up together and usually pair up romantically between each other and it goes on for generations and generations. Always adding a new family every couple of generations to mix it up a little.
I don't do challenges since I dislike other people imposing rules on my gameplay and I love building, so sometimes I will just build for hours without hitting the live mode.
Because of the way I love to integrate all my households and make them all know each other and such, I really really miss the "invite household" option we used to have in previous Sims games. And I hope it makes a comeback. - I focus on one household, with basically the same Sims every time, but sometimes I change their traits or add new roommates. Aging is always turned off since I only really want to play with a few specific Sims, so I'd rather they not get old and die on me. :P Though at some point, I may make a file with aging on out of curiosity. Would probably use my vampire for that. :P I'm interested in seeing new generations of Sims pop up. (I have a mod that apparently adds story progression for unplayed households. Like one or two real life days after moving some Sims in, I saw that a wicked witch apparently had two green babies, and one of the vampire pirates abandoned his crew, moved in with a fairy and married her...)
I like to add interesting/funny/weird Sims from the gallery, or use custom content to create my own, then plop them into a household, and just let them wreak havoc. (Or just hang out. Same thing.) One of my current Sims has a TV for a head. Lol. I also plop down lots from the gallery. I have a hard time building things from scratch that actually satisfy me. The other housemates are a vampire, a witch, a wannabe princess/Victorian lady, and a girl who...uh...I can't decide the hair color of? Lol I basically meant for her to be the innocent maiden as a foil to the vampire and witch, but I change her appearance a lot, so it's not always obvious what she's supposed to be...
I do use the motherlode cheat so that I can just buy a bigger sized house right off the bat, and I usually have money leftover afterwards. - I like trying different challenges, but mostly I create a sim, build their home, and I need to have a story in my head I want to play and try, otherwise it gets really boring fairly quickly. And as much as I would like to play generationally, I never really manage to get past the second generation, and I always somehow end up with like ten different save files.

Pretty much this^- InuMiroLover8 years agoSeasoned AceI tend to make several different households, and make up stories or little dramas for them all. Some pre-made sims get to stay if I want them to have some part in one of my sim's lives, but mostly I have more fun with my own sims. I have sims that fill certain roles too. For example, if Im not happy with a romantic relationship between two sims, I have a particular sim go and be the cause of a break up.
Currently Im trying to pay more attention to having my sims raise families. Ive noticed that I have adult sims work and get into relationships but they never have kids, or by the time they have kids, the kids are too young to look after themselves after the parents die. I'd have to create a younger "aunt or uncle" to look after them, and creating new sims isnt something I want to do right now. Generation wise, I havent put a big focus on that,(most likely because I dont put all focus on one sim) though its something I'd like to do. I have some family trees mingling with others, but its not to the extent of a family having several ancestors. - DizziSquirrel8 years agoSeasoned Ace

Snap! I can play the story for days but never weeks . . .
