How social workers & adoption could be improved

Instead of a child just spawning after an adoption, I think it would be better if the social worker visited with the child to assess / rate the household on certain criteria - similar to the private school headmaster in TS2.

For example, your household would be scored on cooking, cleanliness, facilities, how well they interact with the child during the visit and the ‘parenting’ skills they have.

Then a score of 29 or lower would result in a rejection, 30 - 59, would mean the social worker would have to make another visit before deciding and 60+ would mean the new child is able to join the household.

What do you think?
  • I would like for more time to go by before the game starts threatening to take away the children. My Sims can't/will not be allowed to drop everything instantly just to go and feed or change those little toddler monsters (that both hit and bite in this iteration) :#

This is about the only thing I can think of that I would like to change. I think adoption works pretty much the same as in TS3 which I'm happy enough with.
  • A social worker shows up and observes when you adopt a dog or cat. Would be cool if one showed up when you adopt a child. Repeat random visits to check up on you would be even cooler.
  • I agree. Right now adoption depends uniquelly on owning 1000 simoleons... it's not right...
  • A little bio on the kid would be nice. At least confirm the gender as some of the names and appearances aren't very apparent. My main Sim keeps only having girls and rather than do all the music and food tricks to have a boy I prefer her story to involve adopting
