So this next suggestion may not go down well, but considering the effort an entire EP with all levels of education would take we would probably end up being sorely disappointed with the results as I don't think they would have the time to flesh out something that complex.
So split it up, Uni should be an EP as it's always been since it would have the most assets, before Uni they can patch in private schools (it could give your teen an advantage for a scholarship). The uni features should include:
-Frats and Sororities
-Scholarships
-University Activities (Sports, Cheerleading, Band, Parties, add your own ideas to the list, etc)
-Different types of classes which are active
-Different Qualifications
-Short courses available outside of the university to help with general skill building (same as we had in sims 3)
Then have a GP that does not require university to use, that'll be the back to school GP. (or even an EP if there's enough content) this one should include:
-Active education career where you can pick to teach kindergarten, pre primary, primary school or high school*
-Tweens
-School events like festivals, sports carnivals*, after school activities, field trips, class camps
-An extra slot for a school related trait for while the kids are at school, and affects the way they behave at school and might affect what they do well at in school: Teachers pet, class clown, bully, nerd, jock, mom friend, dad friend, Slacker, Drama kid, Popular kid, Fashionista (you get the idea)
And of course both packs would include a whole bunch of new items and clothing as well.
*explanations for some possibly Australian specific things in the spoilers

Sports Carnival: Unsure if they have this in america but in Australia our schools have factions usually denoted by colors (like red, yellow, green, and blue) and throughout the year you earn faction points for good behavior which you chuck into your factions box. I actually forget what we did with the faction points but I think the winning faction for the year gets written onto the school plaque. There probably was a reward involved too but I honestly do not recall that much. But anyway so the factions would compete against each other in the school sports carnival and the parents would all turn up to support their kids, and children from the same family would be put in the same faction.
The activities at the sports carnival were all sort of Olympic based, we had races, high jump, long jump, throwing... things, and team based ones which was things like flag relays and etc. And we also had a swimming carnival at a different time of year (unfortunately close to winter) where it was basically the same sort of thing except swimming.
How our education system works:
School year: Goes from February till around December unless you're in your last year of high school in which case classes go from February til October and then you have your final exams. Terms last roughly 10-11 weeks with 2 week breaks in between terms and the end of year break goes from when school ends to December til when it starts in February again.
Kindergarten: If you're turning 4 that year you're in Kindy
Pre Primary: If you're turning 5 that year you're in Pre Primary.
Primary School: ages 6-11(which is year 1 through to 6)
High School: Ages 12-17 (which is year 7 through to 12)
*If you're born late in the year, like after July or august your parents can decide to hold you back a year if they want so occasionally if there's a class where everyone was born in say, 2012, one student might have been born late in 2011
I'm not insisting that Sims be like this, it runs on the american system and I actually enjoy it but I just don't know what the american's call these things so I thought I'd explain.
