Toddler is my favourite life stage, because it's the part of life where they're just discovering the world. There is so much to learn and so much to do and it's so fun. I have however always wished there was more in Sims, because I love toddlers so much xD
Here are a whole bunch of things I'd love to be included if we get toddlers in Sims 4:
- Lots of toys. From teddy bears, to sandpits, to toys where they can also learn skills. Tricycles and finger painting would be awesome (and adorable) too!
- Nap mats & toddler beds. I loved how in Sims 2 toddlers could sleep on the pet beds, it was easy and they didn't have to be put into their cribs. They could get themselves onto it and get themselves off. It was easy and simple for nap time in a busy household. Toddler beds are something I always download the CC for, because I like my Sims games to be as real to life as possible, so I like to progress from a crib to a toddler bed as the little one grows up.
- Playpens & baby monitors. I looooooved the extra baby stuff you could get from the store in Sims 3. It was absolutely perfect and I wish that could be carried to Sims 4. The walker, I loooooooved and the playpen was brilliant. The baby monitor was SO USEFUL, I had one in every single room and it made playing so much easier! The changing table where you can give them a bath was brilliant too.
- A rocking horse. I never got a chance to use the rocking horse in Sims 3 because I didn't have Supernatural, but it looked brilliant and a rocking horse is something I've always wanted for The Sims. I bet toddlers look super cute riding it.
- Sippy cups. This would be such a cute addition to the toddler life stage, moving on from the standard bottle when they're a baby to a sippy cup when they become a toddler.
- Pacifiers (or dummies as we call them here xD). I've wanted these since Sims 2. In Sims 2 I had this wonderful CC which included 4 different designs for dummies and they were BRILLIANT! I would love that to be an option for toddlers in Sims 4.
- I would love for toddlers to be able to use the table that allows kids to draw, or have something similar for toddlers because I love getting my kids to do drawings and plastering them around the entire house. When they grow up it's a really nice memory.
- Patty cake, peek-a-boo, nursery rhymes and other similar things.
- Multitasking including toddlers. To add to the multitasking already present in Sims 4, it would be so good if adults could take care of toddlers at the same time as doing other things. Cuddling while watching TV, feeding a toddler at the table, watching a kid play while sitting with a toddler on their lap. Reading a bedtime story and cuddling.
- More realistic things for toddlers to experience. Teething would be a good one, would fit with the emotions well, they would be uncomfortable because of teething. An adult could sooth them or give them something to help them feel better.
- I would also looooooooooooooove kids and toddlers to be able to interact, a whole range of interactions not just one or two. It would be amazing if kids could help look after toddlers, like give them a bottle or play with them or pick them up and cuddle them. Also if kids could teach toddlers stuff that would be awesome too.
- Realistic toddler emotions. Emotions would be SO FUN with toddlers, because they experience so many and at a greater level than people older than them. I'd love to see a sim parent trying to tackle their angry toddler and maybe making them sit in a corner or on a naughty chair for having a tantrum.
- Baby gates. Baby gates, baby gates, baby gates. That's all.
- Rocking chairs, and the ability for an adult sim to sit in a rocking chair with a toddler.
- Ability for toddlers to climb stairs, or at least attempt to climb stairs xD
- Ability to throw toys at people. Whether they're angry or just think it's funny.
- Taking part in group conversations. When everyone's sat around the dinner table or sitting watching TV, the toddler could try to get included. If they have already learnt to talk they could join in as best they can. The same with other family activities, just more inclusion for toddlers.
- Being able to play in the toilet. This was adorable in Sims 2 and even though it's gross I'd love it back because it's so cute xD
- Hats. I'd love the animal hats available for kids to extend to toddlers. That would be too cute.
- Snatching and biting would be interesting too.
- Being able to sleep with a soft toy. I would love that for toddlers.
- More outdoor play equipment. That would probably just be a general for kids but I'd love toddlers to be able to play on outdoor play equipment like swings and slides and other fun stuff.
- Toddlers being able to climb out of their cribs again. This was so cute in Sims 2. Also if they could climb onto chairs or something.
- Read books. My brother when he was little loooooved to read books, this was before he could read and most of the time he held the book upside down but if we couldn't find him it was usually because he was under the table 'reading' xD
- Interact with other toddlers. I loved this in Sims 2, how they could do that little huggle, it was the cutest thing.
- More ways for them to learn. Stacking blocks, exploring the house, maybe even a little toy oven, anything that they could learn something from.
