Hi all! I've been away from The Sims for a while; had a lot going on. I've gotten back into finding time for it recently and really wanted to do a challenge. When last I played, I was working on a name game challenge, and having a lot of fun with it. I previously played on console, but I've got a new PC now, so I've switched to that for simming. I considered uploading everything from my console to continue my previous challenge, but I don't have the same, or as many packs, on PC. It's also been a looong time. So, I decided to start fresh.
Jasmine was born through CAS randomization, which is my favorite way to create sims. I randomized traits until I got a set that didn’t have Evil, Mean, or Hates Children. I did almost stick with Mean the third time it popped up, but that’s just not how I wanted to start this off lol.
I used an aspiration randomizer to come up with Master Mixologist, Beach Life, or Crystal Crafter. I don’t have the crystal pack yet, so between the two remaining, I chose Beach Life. She has the Child of the Ocean trait, so I thought that would be good for her to set this up.
Next, I randomized the look until I got something that seemed kind of fitting and tweaked it a bit. And then random names until I got one that didn’t repeat any letters, since we are going for letters worth points. Jewell was the first surname to pop up, and I enjoy the alliteration, so it stuck.
I'm a big fan of randomness in my games, so I tend to roll the dice on a lot of things. I will continue much randomness, as long as it doesn't hinder the challenge progress too much.
I had played around with Wordpress previously, and I plan to keep everything updated there; just seems easier to edit and play around with. I'll keep my progress updated here as we go, too, though there may be fewer pictures (I'm not sure what the limits are on these new forums). I'll need some input on heirs when I get to those points :)
I've played a bit already, so the first few chapter posts should come pretty quickly, once I have time to organize my screenshots and thoughts.
The Letters

Chapter 1-3 (Was having some issues getting this one to post, so I had to edit it in to try to see what the issue was. All worked out now!)
We return to the happy, newly married couple, as they begin their journey together. In the morning, Jasmine does a quick pregnancy test before Uku heads off to his new job.
Much sadness.Pretty sure this is the most clothing I've ever seen him wear.
Jasmine, still trying to improve her handiness, makes some planters to expand their tiny garden. In the process, we realized that Uku brought a lot of stuff when he moved in.
She decided to let him keep some of his things (mostly the things that she didn't yet own) and get the house fixed up some. The house expanded a bit to make room.
New stove, I guess means I won't make her fix up a salvaged one :D
Somehow this also gave them credit for Rebate Day, without spending any Simoleons.
Jasmine set off to research some things on the beach for work. While she was there, she heard that Uku was promoted already! (I am very skilled at things, so I saved over the pic.)
They decided to go hang out on the beach for a while to celebrate.
Defeating him in chess made Jasmine realize that she's pretty self-assured.
Time to get back to work on the challenge. So many babies required.
I don't think I've ever had such an issue with this before.I am becoming very concerned about the 7 kids she'll need to have.
Yay! Finally!
Jasmine goes to share the happy news with Uku. He apparently responds with some sort of mischief. She's upset; she dislikes mischief. He cracked himself up though; now he's hysterical... This is an excellent start LOL.
Uku heads to a mirror to calm himself down, while Jasmine just goes to bed.
The next morning, The Jewell Dynasty gained a level (though I'm not sure why).
Today, it was time for some skill building. She put in a bit of time with handiness and also got started on her photography skill.
Then Jasmine is off for more wildlife research in Sulani. While swimming for about 3 seconds, from one beach to the next, she realized she really enjoyed that.
She needs some more logic skill for work too, so she went to the community center for chess practice. She did eventually get a bit of chess time, but it was mostly just puzzles while chatting with friends.
Even though I don't think her logic was high enough, the next morning Jasmine earned another promotion!
Uku was impressed with how big Jasmine has gotten and wanted to feel the belly.
I'm just impressed she still got those shorts on.
She heads off to the beach to do some testing of the waterfall and runs into Makoa, who starts doing some very dangerous pushups.
Yes, he's there.
Jasmine was scared by something she touched on the beach, so she decided to have a nap when she returned home.
About the same time, Uku came home in a costume. He's been promoted to Team Mascot!
Almost baby time, so we went searching for a bassinet and learned you can get one from a baby shower! They added some new furniture and activities outside to accommodate a party and invited some friends over.
At one point, Jasmine decided she needed to nap, but no one seemed to mind. Uku enjoyed meeting all of her friends, and everyone had a great time. They even got a couple of shower gifts.
Turns out they threw the shower just in time; Jasmine went into labor towards the end. Time to wrap this up and get to the hospital. Everybody out!
They both also gained a ridiculous amount of charisma skill at the end of the party. Is that normal?? Uku went from level 2 to 7... that's not normal, right?
Welcome baby June!
The first random J name was Jessica. That's a lot of possible kids for just 1 new letter. June is also only 1 new letter, but fewer kids required lol.
Still no points earned yet, but at least our family tree is getting larger :)
Jasmine has been on the hunt for friends and, more specifically, someone to begin this challenge with. It was an extremely late night, which led to a rough first day of work, but she pulled through.
On the way home Paka’a called and wanted to hang out. She decided to dig around in the sand for a bit on her way.
And got pinched by a crab, which is probably what she deserved for making him wait.
When Jasmine finally makes it back home, it seems the Welcome Wagon has returned! (And I was reminded that she doesn’t get fruitcake in Sulani.)
She had a great time meeting and chatting with all of her neighbors. Paka’a was a bit left out since he wasn’t actually part of the wagon and spent most of his time swimming around the house.
Jasmine and Mele especially hit it off, and Mele did not want to leave once the gathering had ended. She had to be sent home, else she’d probably still be there.
Jasmine enjoyed the kava, but it’s not really filling… and her fridge is still a mess. She took a quick trip to the community center to borrow their functional fridge and grab a sandwich.
The next day was definitely a work from home day, so she could sleep in a bit. After some much needed rest, she headed out to bum a computer at Lakeview Library for her work research.
Some very intense research happening here, I think.
Hungry again, and still without food options at home, Jasmine decided to try her hand at grilling some hot dogs.
Do you smell something?
After heading to the beach to finish up the rest of her work, Jasmine decided she wanted to meet some more new people, and went to check out the Blue Velvet.
Mission accomplished! Nevermind that it was 8am when she got back home, Jasmine had a great time. She really hit it off with Nancy (and Lilith was new for me, as I never had that pack before. Fun!)
There is no work the next day, so after sleeping all morning, it’s time to put some work into this handiness thing. Girl needs a fridge!
Uhhh… I don’t think that’s how you’re supposed to do that.
She does make a valiant effort, but it won’t be finished today 🙁
In the morning, Jasmine learns she’s earned a promotion! And celebrates by spending some more time on the fridge.
She did have to go get some work done, surveying at the beach. After that, Jasmine was on a mission to spend some time with Ukupanipo. They went to the community center to hang out, had an excellent time, and she got her logic skill up for work.
In the morning, it was time for another promotion, and more work on the fridge. Then, on a whim, Jasmine decided to found a dynasty of connoisseurs. (She’ll have to be careful to skip the Marine Biologist path when she gets there, else she’ll be snubbed by all the snobs.)
She spends the rest of her day taking pictures of some gross water, working on her tan, chatting with friends, and trying to get better at chess.
Somewhere in here, my PC decided to have a conniption, and I had to replay half of this day. Obviously, there were some changes, but I tried to stick to the same tasks.
When Jasmine returned home, she decided to invite Uku over for baked potatoes. Thankfully, he’s a glutton and has no concerns about food quality.
Things progressed rather quickly (food is obviously the way to win this man over), and he ended up spending the night. While they were still sleeping, Jasmine learned she’s earned another promotion. On a roll!
Jasmine woke up first and decided to rummage through some decorations for Bunny Day.
There were things to be accomplished today, so she did not stay idle. First, the research for work.
That doesn’t actually look like research…
Then, she finally conquered the refrigerator!
Feeling very confident, Jasmine decided to ask Uku out on a date.
While they did have issues with another person sitting between them, I appreciated that sims seem to not butt into date convos so much anymore.
Everything was going so well (the Flower Bunny even showed up at the bar!), Jasmine felt this was the right time to propose.
Uku agreed, and thought they should move in together immediately.
With the serious side of things all sorted, they decided to chat up the Flower Bunny, who came by to wish them well at the end of their date.
As a side note, trying to talk to the Flower Bunny here was pretty troubling. Passionate Kiss would never show up during their date, but as soon as she started chatting with the bunny…
Upon returning to their newly shared home, Uku again became impatient and decided they should just tie the knot there on the beach.
Uku went for a swim and decided he likes fitness. While perusing his info, he noted it’s probably time for a job. I agreed, since there’s more points for that. So, he picked the athlete career to go with his newfound passion.
Still no points earned, but we’ve definitely made some progress! Jasmine is progressing nicely through her career, she finally has a working fridge, and she’s got someone to make all those babies with😄
Time to get this party started! Jasmine moved onto Sapphire Shores in Sulani, so there will be plenty of room for the large family she’s expected to have. Jasmine seems alright with her new land (I don’t think she even noticed there was no house.)
I did notice the lack of house, and got to work spending her available Simoleons to fix that situation. Just the basics. The Restoration Workshop kit is one that I’ve picked up and wanted to play with, so she got one of the salvaged fridges and a workbench to help with that task.
When we returned to Jasmine, the Welcome Wagon notice had disappeared. I guess they decided not to be a part of the renovations. No fruitcake for this girl.
As soon as I unpaused, there was of course, a downpour. I moved the workbench up onto the covered porch, so she wouldn’t hate life, and put her to work. She needs a fridge, after all.
It did not occur to me that she’s a snob, and is going to hate life anyway.
She then created a broken knife block, injuring herself in the process. Not a great start for her future functional fridge.
Jasmine is going to need some income, and obviously it won’t be coming from woodworking. Time to look for a job.
This reminded her that she has a phone, and she looooves phones, so the horrors of carpentry were quickly forgotten. The conservationist career seemed the most fitting, so we went with that.
She perused the odd jobs to look for some quick cash, in case she needs to buy another fridge :D
Beach cleaning requires no skill and would go with her Beach Life and Conservationist efforts. Let’s do it!
Jasmine went digging around on the beach, found a few Sulani treasures, and met a few of the locals. Then she was accosted by a thieving seagull, which left her angry at the end of her expedition.
I decided that she should definitely go have some fun and meet some new sims. Outgoing Jasmine needs a bar!
She is still quite angry about the seagull, but we’ll see how it goes…
We run into Makoa first. They work together, so she should introduce herself. He was angry for some reason, and we know how Jasmine’s doing… There is waaay too much anger there, and I think they just traded insults while dancing.
Things started looking up after that. Jasmine finally got over the seagull incident. Through her constant mildly bored state, some interesting conversation emerged.
Soon, the bar filled with patrons for Jasmine to meet. She’s outgoing, so she needs all the friends. More importantly, she has a challenge to begin!
She did get along well with Paka’a, but he was part of my first attempt at the Name Game, so I thought we should go a different direction this time.
Jasmine wasn’t having much luck with the locals who showed up. (The only one with high compatibility was Makoa -.-) She was just about to pack it up and head home, when… Oh, helo
They chatted for a bit, but it was like 3 am, so she needed to head home anyway. At least she met a possibility.
