Longer Lifespans & Adjustments to Lengthen Lives

I personally feel the lifespans are way too short in this iteration. Even the long lifespan is short to me. I miss the epic lifespan from Sims 3 (which is something I always choose to this day when I play). It gave me much more (needed) time to enjoy my sims. I also liked how we could adjust our ages by wishing for the genie to add on a few hundreds of days longer to our life stage or the Young Again potions.

Anyways, with the significantly shortness of life in this iteration, sims around me all die out eventually (unless I disable aging). I know not everyone plays with long lifespans anyway, but I think it'd be a great addition if longer lifespans were accessible to folks like me, without having to download mods.

I feel like if I enable aging on long lifespan, my sims will die out before experiencing all the released content (#FOMO).

I think this resource would be good reference of epic lifespan suggestions. (I also miss the sliders but it isn't a dealbreaker for me, I just would like a longer lifespan option).
  • I agree. I play on long as well and it still feels short to me. (The sim in my avatar was a toddler just 2 real life weeks ago.) Oddly enough, the child and teen stages takes too long for me, while I feel that the YA and Adult stages are passing by quickly. Even though YA and Adult live longer until aging up, with them going to work etc it feels like days shoot by while the child and teen is only a few hours away to school and I play them longer so that's why I feel the Child and Teen age so slow.

So I'd definitely want an custom adjustment to age like in TS3.

I play with age off but to me this is why I want preteen age because it gives you more life to play and you can play longer.

I use the Command Center Mod do adjust each life stage to what I want, it is really convenient with a good user interface. Just a FYI, would be nice if we could set our own days ingame without mods.

Me too - I play Ultimate life span with days maxed for my sims in Sims 3 - In 4 right now I have aging shut off and age them when I think they would be ready. I hate short life spans and even long is way too short to me. I don't really like keeping aging off - I would prefer it went slowly like Sims 3's longest life span - but it is the only answer I can see for now.
  • I personally like to adjust each age section. Baby infant and elder short. Everything else epic. That way I dont spend too much time getting the kids to socializing and school age. Which now I just have birthday parties and force it but I have liked to have it play out instead of forcing.
