ASSIGNMENT 1: INTRODUCE YOURSELVES

Me and Kayla met at a gaming convention about, 2 years ago.
Me and a buddy of mine entered a mini game tournament for party frenzy,
as we where setting up I see this girl, with crazy colored hair and I'm like 'Woah, I gotta talk to her' I pointed her out to my buddy, he shoves me towards her direction telling me to man up, I walk proudly over to her as she was setting up.

"So do you do your hair yourself or is it just natural?" I mentally face palmed when I realized how stupid that was, she had just giggled at my stupidity.
"I actually do, do my hair myself." I had stood up confidently again when she had still wanted to talk to me.
"Heh, maybe you can do my hair sometime?" she looked at me very weary before putting on a smile."Sure! It'll cost you tho, here's my number."
She had just taken my hand and written her number on it before going back to getting ready for the tournament.

She had ultimately won the tournament, we where the last two, I just let her win to get on her good side, of course she'll never know that.
So 6 months down the line, we've became like best friends, sleepovers and all, all I wanted to do was ask her to be mine.

She had came over for her sleepover (she just comes over and ends up falling asleep after a while) well, while playing some games I had let her won for the 20th time, she was so cute because anytime she won she would always do a cute little cheer and stick her tongue out at me, by this point and time I had my arm around her, we had locked eyes and had our first kiss, from there on we've been together every since.

We enjoy going to gaming conventions, movie marathons, just staying up and having deep conversations and talking about rather aliens exist or not.

Mike and I met at high school. Yes we were high school sweethearts. I was 15 and he was 17 and my hockey coach. Being together for so long, we both had to grow and mature through different stages of our lives. We had our ups and downs as we both developed our individuality. We knocked heads about differences in our ideas and lifestyles as we matured and changed.

I played hockey several times a week and ran competitively. Mike travelled, playing hockey with the state team. So we were apart for some of our courting days, but everyday I received a letter from him in the post and I felt he was checking up on me at times.

I liked to socialise with anyone and everyone, whereas Mike’s whole world revolved around me and family. In fact he became a bit of a recluse which often got on my nerves, and we struggled at times to come to terms with our different philisophy on life. You could say we were almost complete opposites. But as the saying goes, “opposites attract”, and that seemed to be the case with us. We married at 20 and 22 so had to put in the effort to keep communications open and honest to make the distance.

Growing up in the country, horses became an obsession with me and every moment I had would be spent with them. Being both outdoor people from the word go, I remember every horse ride we went on. As a teenager I was lucky enough to help out in the stables of Bart Cummings, a famous race horse trainer. I spent a lot of time there and met many other “horse” people, which also got on Mike’s nerves. He was a bit of a green-eyed monster when it came to me and part of our growth entailed teasing out our trust and security issues.

He hadn’t ever ridden a horse until I persuaded him to give it a try. It was serene and peaceful in the country, and a lot of our discussions evolved whilst riding in the countryside. Having such a logical mind, he would plan out every strategy and move so that everything went smoothly and to plan. Not me, however. I grew to be a bit of a non-conformist and often put my foot in my mouth, saying things without thinking and later regretting what I’d said. I tended to be spontaneous and unpredictable, which Mike found hard to deal with at times.

However, to have lasted as long as we have, there needed to be an open line of communication that incorporated balanced give and take. To me that is the secret of a long-lasting relationship - to let each other grow as individuals yet stay committed and true to one another before you both begin to drift apart, this is why we are still together today.

ASSIGNMENT 1: INTRODUCE YOURSELVES

Damiel: The first time Sasha and I met we already knew who the other was. It happens in an industry like ours. Our bands are signed to the same label, we moved in the same circles and attended the same parties.

I'll never forget the day we officially met. It was at the home of David Kan, the owner of our label, laughing llama records. She'd been there with her brother for a meeting, I was there to collect a guitar I'd left there a week before. She answered the door, and I was struck by lightning.

Sasha: And that's when the conversation started. I was awe-struck at first, Damiel Kool wanted to talk to me? But we just connected, and kept talking. David eventually kicked us out before his kids got home from school. I invited Damiel to my flat, since it was nearby. It didn't take long for the conversation to turn to shop. I don't remember if we ate anything. Who needs food when you've got passion like ours?

I think during that eventing, Damiel may have let slip something off the album his band was working on. I remember hearing it weeks later, and finding one track in particular to be very familiar.

Damiel: Or it was the other way around? And the track was written later. It happens that way, inspiration comes from the stranges places, sometimes from the strangest late night converastions. We talked and played music until the sun came up. And then our lives got in the way. The next night I was back in the studio, and by the time we were done, Sasha was on tour with Sibling Rivalry.

Sasha: But that didn't really stop us, even though we were forced to take things slow by circumstance. There was a lot of day time texting, and late night phone calls. We didn't see each other again until the night of the party celebrating laughing llama artists who'd been nominated for the sim city music awards.

Damiel: Yes, before you ask, yes. I kissed her at that party. I went home with her. That is what you were wanting to know? Isn't it?

Sasha: Again, we stayed up all night, talking about music, playing music. Music is what we live for, music pays the bills, music is what brought us together.

And to let you in on a little secret, Damiel is a better guitarist than my brother. Don't tell Alexi I said that.

Damiel: People keep asking if we're working on something together. Right now, while we've got the time, we're working on us. The music will always be there, you can keep hoping for our side project. While we've got the time, we're going to stay up late, make music, we might fall asleep fully clothed, or we might... well anything more is none of your business.

Sasha: Shhhhhhhhhhh! We're working on something top secret. But I didn't say that.

I was seriously struggling to write as just one or the other, for some odd reason, this needed both their voices.

And I'm dumping my ramble into a spoiler.
