My hopes for the medieval build kit

A medieval stove like item would be great! I'm personally trying to keep my expecttaions low, but really curious to see this kit.

I agree. My worst fear is that we'll just see a lot of stone walls, stone floors and some roof items to create turrets, but no functional objects. Or we'll get a lot of things that looks medieval but are decor only and therefore useless in gameplay. For me, the stone walls are already there, many windows and doors (especially from get together and cottage living) work fine, so I hope they focus on the functional objects instead.

I think it would be really nice if they gave us sword fighting. We already have it in Batuu and Get Famous, but it would be nice if they gave us a sword display or something that sims could practice fencing with another sim or maybe with a dummy. A working water well that's less extravagant looking would be nice too.

oooh, yes please....to any and all off the grid items! I love this style of gameplay and could always use more working objects. Would love a new chess table too (something quite plain but with those lovely new wood swatches they are doing now).

I get the feeling though that it will just be a bunch of stone floors and walls....maybe a door or two (of course with a tall height portcullis door that you will probably never use!).

Next year. They announced this during the most recent live stream.

I am so so excited for the medieval kit! Hope it will have great objects with gameplay!

- Writing books on paper with a pen made from a feather instead of the almighty computer.
- Applying for all jobs from a board like the horse ranch instead of pulling out the cellphone.
- A fun substitute for the computer that works for the medieval situation and I can remove some cc.

There is plenty of stonewalls and stone floors in my game. If you can help me get rid of technology then I am interested.

I would like a real working cannon, a sword practice dummy and a challenge to duel interaction for sims. We also need some medieval looking kitchen sink working off the grid.

Well, there will certainly not be any items with new animations or tuning, so I second OP's wish for more working of the grid lamps.
But I'm afraid it might be restricted to build mode objects (as opposed to former buy mode in precious iterations): wallpaper, floor, windows, doors, decorative roof items and such.

@83bienchen unfortunately I believe you are right, but it is a missed opportunity if you are. This would be a chance to add things that might make a difference in game play, and I do believe a lot could be added using already existing animations. An old fashioned outhouse toilet, off the grid lighting and a stove that looks like it's a fireplace could all use the animations already in game, same for more medieval looking toys. However, even though that is true, I also believe we'll mostly get build mode objects. I at least hope they make them match what we already have in game.
