Permanent Lightning Powers

So, this happened today when my sim was somehow randomly struck by lightning twice

She had the ability to summon bolts of lightning for almost half a day afterwards, it was awesome, and... temporary, why was it temporary?

Now.. this has never happened before, and it was unexpected, I didn't even know that this was a thing until now but apparently if you get struck by lightning twice and survive you become a superhero.. for about half a day..

I don't get that last part, even if the glowing eyes go away unless you're using your ability it seems like this should be permanent if it happens, given that the likelihood of having this happen by accident is nearly zero it isn't something that I can see realism players fairly complaining about, and if they do.. you could add in a "lifestate-begon" or something but.. can this please be made a permanent skill if your sim gets it?

XD because I already miss having the ability to summon lightning to strike random things.. and that's not ok..
  • This concept could be used for super powers thus having super hero's, such a game or expansion pack like that would be a cool feature, I guess this could be a part of super natural? :P
  • It could be, the thing is.. this is already there, it was already put into the game but for whatever reason it was made a temporary thing.

Now if in some future expansion it becomes permanent that would be great.
  • Or even, if the act of being struck twice still gives you *temporary* powers, but with a chance to take some further action that "locks them in" as being permanent, if that makes sense? i.e., maybe a drink you have to mix and drink while the powers are active, or a special NPC sim you talk to who grants to permanent powers?

That's an interesting idea, I'd go for this too, i honestly kind of like how this is spawning ideas for how temporary things could /become/ permanent, XD I will say.. it would be odd for a sim to walk around with glowing eyes all the time.. as cool as it looks, but i seriously want my super powers back

I was literally on the verge of making a Zeus sim after this happened lol..

This is exactly the kind of unexpected awesome thing that I like discovering in my game, it's just a concept that they /should/ do more with than "here's your awesome new powers, super cool right? Sorry they wear off over time.*

Even if it needs to recharge after a certain number of jolts the way vampire powers need dark energy to run that would be fine, heck.. it would be really cool actually~ especially if they expand on it
  • Speaking of super hero's, someone made a mod involving being a super hero, sadly it's for PC only but yea. :o

    It's called Armageddon, looks interesting.
  • maybe one could call the NPC "Thor".. and Thor isn't regulated by Disney/MCU since he was a Norse God
  • They should patch a season aspiration with elemental powers as a reward

    • Permanent lightning
    • Instant plant growth
    • Pyromania
    • revive dead plants
    • Elsa powers
  • I'd be happy with the various seasons coming with different powers that could be unlocked and made permanent
    Say..
Summer gave you fire (arson is fun.)
Spring gave you water/rain calling (rain dancing?)
    Fall gave you wind (airbending)
Winter gave you ice (yes, Elsa powers, freezing people)

Along with the lightning strikes giving you electricity the way it already does I could very much get behind this.

As long as they are /permanent/
I don't understand the whole.. temporary life states and temporary powers thing going on in the sims 4
  • I was happy when I first saw it, sad, that it's useless, like I can't use those powers to smite other sims, or recharge an electronic device, or become a power source tp provide electricity to a home or neighborhood without power or anything... so why even bother?

Again, happy because the visuals of the animations and graphics is appealing for when Magic becomes a thing.

The way I choose to see it, it has to do with "legitimacy" in how you obtain power.

I have to be bias and say, save those awesome unique powers for the Sorcerer Life State.
  • @LordGalious
I almost never use mods admittedly even when I do play on the pc, i think the only two i have were to make Ahsoka Tano and Satele Shan for my jedi temple-household

XD I usually play on the ps4.. and I seriously just want my sims to be able to be able to do this sort of thing using official stuff that's in the game (which also means they need to make an Ahsoka Tano costume... seriously... dew it..)

    @nerdfashion yessss
    That would be awesome
    XD and hilariously overkill
But I would literally park my poor vampire Darth Maul in the middle of a thunderstorm for a week..
