Return of “Purchase Additional Home”

This could be neat imo, with an option to rent the old house out for money it'd be good storytelling. But I think the mechanics behind it may too entwined for them to do it easily.

that would be nice. it would also be nice if I could rent that house out if I decide I don't need to use it. this way later I can kick the tenant out and move my kid in.

having the option to rent it out and your sim acts as the landlord so if something breaks your tenant calls your sim and you have to visit to repair it? Sign me up! This is an idea I never knew I needed until right now.

I would love to own more than one residence!
Also I hope we can buy vacation homes and have to option to live permanently in worlds like Selvadorada or Granite Falls

Renting out properties would be a great option too!

Yup! And sometimes you need to fix objects for the tenant since you‘re the landlord.

solution 1: Bronte has died and his daughter has inherited the property and is now your landlady.

solution 2: Bronte has died leaving behind no heirs, the government has taken control of the property and will auction it off on Saturday. if you would like to bid on it you may. the new owners will be required to maintain your lease.

having something like this makes sense if you are considering buying extra land ie another lot for farming. it would make better storytelling too so AGREE!

Interesting--definitely has story potential! I feel like I personally wouldn't use this much, if it was an option, just because I tend to play very long games over multiple generations and find myself running out of lots for all my sims to live in as it is. I definitely need a lot more free lots to play on before I felt like I could start giving my sims second homes, lol.

I don't think renting a house is hard to be implemented in the game. It's just that the property is owned by a household and it can be rented by another household which has too little money to buy one. The rental could be paid by exactly the same way as how bills are paid (via mailbox) but would be more expensive than the bills, and the money goes to the owner (maybe some of it will be spent as utilities). The renters who can't afford their rental can be kicked out and go back to the household bin. Maybe owners can decide on the rental amount, and renters can leave autonomously if the rental is too expensive. Anyway I hope this feature (purchasing additional residential properties + rental) will be added IN CASE there's an EP like TS2's Apartment Life. I miss having roommates.
