Ru Fogel - A One Month One World One Year / Opposites Attract Challenge - Updated Feb. 1

I decided to continue on with the omowoy challenge - here - for this year, with some slight changes.

I likely will not be posting daily, but will aim for weekly posts instead. I will also not focus on aspirations as much as just moving to a new world each month and having some fun with it. :) I have two other stories I want to focus on, so this will just be a little side thing.

I'm also doing the "Opposites Attract" challenge - here - so Ru will be dating a new sim each month until he finds his "perfect" sim.

"February, Ru, Fogel has decided to make his way in the world - out on his own in Mt. Komorebi! His mom did it when she was a teen, and now Ru wants to follow in her footsteps. He also wants to get into some extreme winter sports up on the slopes of Mt. Komorebi! It will be hard away from his family, especially his twin brother, March, but he's determined to make it work - and with no cash too. He let his parents buy him a small plot of land in Wakaba, but he's determined to do the rest himself! But, oh my - opposites attract! Will he find his 'perfect' sim along the way?"

His "perfect" sim will need to be either gloomy, hot-headed, freegan, or a glutton for this challenge. :smile:

Part 1:

It was the weekend, which meant no school lunches, and Ru was both hungry and...well...he needed a bath. Not to mention he really wanted to stretch his fins.

The snow wasn't really the place for a mermaid, but there was the hot springs and it was still pretty early. Ru thought maybe he could sneak in and swim around a bit without anyone noticing.

Now that he'd gotten to relax in the hot spring, he needed to fill his belly. He decided to ask Brenda on a date to the bar to grab a bite to eat.

Part 2:

They talked and ate some bar food and then decided to have fun and do some dancing.

But they ended up really having a good time together. Even the bartender looked like he was dancing with them.

He really liked Brenda, and so...he decided to show her just how he was feeling.

Afterward they went to the park to hangout. Ru was still hungry because bar food is not very filling. He decided it was time to grill some meat and get something of substance in his belly.

While he was grilling, he got a message from his sister-in-law:

Wow! He had a new niece! He told Brenda about it while they ate.

He went over to see his brother, Bear (short for September), and to meet the new baby, Delilah. The rest of his family was there too.

He felt very confident that night before he crawled into his tent to go to sleep. Sure, he hadn't made any money (hopefully bills wont be due soon), but he had a new niece, and maybe if he asked, Brenda might be his girlfriend. He decided he'd ask her next time he saw her.

@Belalucina I didn't know about the opposites attract sentiment either. That's perfect for the challenge. I wonder if it'll happen every time?

Ru hadn't been doing anything to make money and he feared bills would be due soon. He would have to find a way to be able to pay them. In the meantime though, he had to go to school...

Thankfully, the school had an easel and some paints. He could sell some paintings. He discovered that he really liked to paint. Maybe it could become a new hobby of his.

It was career day and Ru thought maybe he would find some direction for a career he'd like to have after graduating. Unfortunately, none of the jobs presented caught his interest at all. It seemed all he was interested in at the moment were winter sports, Brenda, painting, and...Brenda...

Speaking of Brenda, he wanted to ask her to be his girlfriend, but he wanted to wait for the right moment. He wanted it to be romantic. They ended up going on a wintery hike together at sunset.

The trail came to an end and Ru decided it was finally time. He stopped Brenda before they turned to make their way back. The sun had already set. It was quiet and they were perfectly alone.

"Brenda, there's something I wanted to ask you."

He tried to work up his courage, but she was looking at him with wide, frantic eyes.

"Is...is something wrong?"

There was a ginormous insect on his shoulder! He tried to stay calm, but Brenda was panicking. And then...

The insect zapped him before slithering away in the snow. Ru was dazed the entire hike back to the trailhead and Brenda was still freaked out. Apparently she really hated bugs. This would not be the day to ask her to be his girlfriend.

They finished their hike in silence. Brenda went home and Ru dazedly rode his broomstick back to his tent for some very much needed sleep.
