Well written, as always, but I would have left out this part: This next part is short but it's where things take their darkest turn yet. It ends badly for one unlucky sim, but it sets up our happy ending.
Unless you meant this as a disclaimer, there was no need to tell us things take their darkest turn. Or, to let us know a Sim was going to fall on some very bad luck, as it were. Kind of spoiled the suspense you had going, for me, anyway. And unless you are giving us a far less than happy ending, why tell us beforehand?
