I made some changes to the build I was working on. The roofing at the entrance wasn't working for me, or the wallpaper. It's definitely looking better this way.
Also extended the glass wall 1 more tile on each side, I'm considering raising the foundation so it's not exactly on ground level but that's still to be decided. I'm probably going to take this build very slow
Your changes to the roofing and the wallpaper look great! 🙂The extending of the glass wall adds an even nicer sunnier feel for sims as they eat meals there. Your updates are very nice.
Hope you all had a great holiday weekend. Just thought I'd share some photos of the beach house I built for my 'Orphan Mathew' household. Will have a more detailed backstory for him in my Silver Variety Stories. In a nutshell, I found Mathew alone in one of the 'other' game households while he was an infant so I decided to add him to 'Orphan Sim' households by creating a new parent for him in CAS using genetics where his aunt Bria Castle was created along with her supposed 'partner', Felix Patton and his son, Vikram joined the household. I create most of my Sims using the random buttons and dice to see how many times I click the button. Don't worry, I'll have a better backstory for them in my update.
Since I don't consider my builds complete until all rooms are decorated I thought I'd share some photos of the house as it is now. During my initial builds, I generally just build and then decorate enough of the house to make it livable and then finish other family like up and downstairs family/hobby, balcony/deck and future bedrooms, and baths as needed. The house has three spare rooms left to decorate for future children and/or grandkids.
The first two pictures are of the exterior of the house. I used a beach house plan from houseplans.com as a guide for the main floor. It has three floors with almost rap around decks to give space for vertical gardens, grill & outdoor dining, vet table and surgery station for Bria to care for her pets at home, and other hobby items that don't fit inside the house.
There next three photos are ones that I tried to get using the free camera angles. They are not perfect but hopefully practice will make future photos better.
These two photos show the area off the kitchen .
The next pictures show the kitchen/living area, master bedroom and nursery for children from birth to toddler years.
That's all for now. Will share the second and third floor and bathroom pictures another time.
Hope all your Sims are doing well and have a great evening, everyone!
The beach house is lovely! 🙂 The exterior design is very nice and great wraparound porches. The glass roofing over the top porch is very nice. The bar counter and outdoors kitchen area is great, and very nice area to enjoy making fizzy juices. The furnishing of the interior is lovely! Very nice open plan kitchen and living room design. The bedrooms are lovely! Very nice green and brown colours. The curtains are great and very nice wall decor. Very lovely plants theme.
Thanks for the feedback, Rose. I made a post for the second and third floors of the house but for some reason it is not showing. Guess the forums didn't like something in it or maybe it was too long. Since I already deleted the photos from the screenshot folder and emptied my laptop recycle bin guess those pictures will have to wait until my next visit with Mathew's household. I have photos saved for his update in my thread, though that I will do at some point.
I plan to return to my second game save tonight called Silverford Country to visit a few households there.
Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend and fun with your Sims. Here are pictures from my updated Simself, Grace Ford's country home in Henford-on-Bagley. There will be more details of her story when I do the family update in my Silver Variety Stories. Grace is the founding sim of my second game save, Silverford County. When Grace met Manuel Aguilar shortly after moving in, it was almost love at first sight. They are now married and have an infant daughter, Robin. I built her house loosely based on country home I grew up in but with a few changes and a basement family area. The basement in my real house was not suitable for hanging out in but thanks to the Sims, that was fixed. Hope you enjoy the photos even though some of them are a little distorted due to using the free camera.
This is the front view of Grace & Manuel's home. Instead of the original white siding she opted for red 'Farmhouse' style with white framed windows. The front dormers were removed (as I haven't figured out how to make them, yet. The yard boasts of a nice greenhouse and garden area for Grace's garden career, outdoor animal area for cows, chickens and a future horse since I grew up with horses in my teens and used to want to have a horse farm. The came crashed last night while trying to take the back view pictures but will try to get them this evening. Grace plans to have treehouse built for Robin by the time she goes to school. Manuel may be a 'music man' but not so much a 'handy' one. but is otherwise a great husband and father to their daughter. This is the 'Porch to Grace's home which is of course more decorated that my childhood one. Instead of the front door inside the porch, I put an archway to the entrance hallway.. The decor uses 'Patio style pieces and Grace's favorite colors of pink with gray.
This is the entry hall where I took out the staircase that was in my childhood home since I connected the whole upstairs since the master bedroom access from the former back porch area. The room now houses pet stuff, coat rack, automatic garbage can and archways to the kitchen and living room. Most of the rooms in this house are available separately in my gallery..
Sorry for the darkness but the family's lights are set to auto light as per the power conservation neighborhood plan.
These next two photos are of Grace's country kitchen, The 'off=grid functioning lights don't cast much light. The curtains are blue.Archway to the dining room portion of the living room.
Here are some views of the living/dining room in Grace's home.
The original house has a sun porch off the living/dining area but Grace turned it into an indoor garden area. Here are two photos of Grace's indoor garden that she uses for herbs and some fruit plants so she doesn't have to always go to the outdoor greenhouse for fresh ingredients for cooking. Although it's hard to tell but one of the windows is actually a doorway to the back deck on that wall. Here are a couple pictures of the nursery decorated using the Basics, Industrial (one of Robin's future favorites), and Cute decor. In the original house their was a den and back kitchen area but I turned it into a hallway with a nursery and a larger main floor bathroom.. The up & down staircases are also in the back hall area long with laundry and a second fridge and will try to get photos when I'm in game later.I've been experimenting with using different wall decor items for accent corners. Somehow the free camera missed the three wall vents on the left of the cradle. The two sides match in game, though.
That's all for now, I'll save the up and downstairs phots for another day.
Grace and Manuel’s home is lovely! 🙂 It is very special that it is based on your childhood home ❤️The exterior design and red colour are very nice and great treehouse corner. The interior furnishing is lovely. The entry hall area is very nice and lovely design of the kitchen. The wall patterns through the home are very nice. The open plan layout of the living and dining area and the colours are great. Sims will enjoy sitting there chatting, playing chess, using the computer or playing the piano. The indoor garden room is great! The nursery is very sweet 💗The cat is cute.
Here are some more photos of Grace & Manuel's home of the upstairs areas and basement hobby areas to date. Spare rooms include three future bedrooms upstairs and two down with a future spa bath in the basement.
These two photos show the master bedroom. As you can see both Manuel and Grace like pink. This is the upstairs bathroomNext we have photos of the upstairs family areas. This part used to be the master suite where I grew up. Decided to combine the two areas in this house. The last two photos show the downstairs hobby areas with space left for future needs of the family.
Hope you've all enjoyed your visit to Manuel & Grace Aguilar's home in Henford-on-Bagley. Today, I'll be creating a new family for one of the two orphan children in this game save.
