It’s winter again, and time for another Winter Designer Showdown! The world has turned to ice, and so have your sims. Build an Ice Palace for your sims to shelter in. The ice palace can be as large or small as you like, on any lot. Be as whimsical or realistic as you like, just remember to make the builds functional. Because it’s an ice palace, the requirement to take snapshots in summer is waived—show us your builds in all their frozen, snow-covered glory. Those without Seasons can use white flooring or terrain paints to simulate snow and evergreens in the landscaping. Have fun creating a magical winter wonderland!

Lot size: Any

Build an Ice Palace. It can be as big as you want, with as many floors as you like. The exterior should reflect the icy theme with white, ice blue, pale gray, or a combination of these colors. 

Use a winter color palette for the interior. Think shades of blue, white, silver, and gray to create a cozy yet frosty atmosphere..

The landscaping should be winter-themed. Take inspiration from northern or arctic areas, incorporating elements like snow-covered trees, ice sculptures, and frosty plants.

Ensure that the builds are functional for your sims to live in. This includes having all necessary rooms and amenities.

Tips: Use cool-toned lighting to enhance the icy atmosphere.

ENTRY DETAILS: BnS # 188Winter Designer Showdown. ~Welcome to the Ice Crystal Palace...made for your iciest Sims! With a touch of modern comfort! Enjoy the palace all to yourself or invite your family & friends as there is always something to do here! I didn't air too much on the side of realism, but used my imagination to think up a frosty, cold ice palace, and like to think a lot of the walls, floors and crystals are compacted ice!!! I added a few touches of warmth and comfort, and made sure everything was functional! One thing- your TV definitely won't over heat :D Hope you enjoy- Made with love! <3 ~

ENTRY DETAILS:  I chose to make a Magical Ice Palace that is a hotel. I was inspired by the Ice hotels that you can actually visit in IRL. I placed the hotel on the Island of Windenburg. The castle has a moat surrounding the courtyard and a three story palace. The courtyard has a wedding Arch with seating for an outdoor winter wonderland wedding as well as a fire pit, playground, patio with grilling space and bar, there is a special cauldron brewing area, as well as a decorative life size chess board. There are seven hotel rooms inside the palace, including a family suite and a honeymoon suite. There is a dining room with a breakfast bar. A Lounge/Karaoke bar, a library, pool, gym and a banquet hall. The palace is decorated with icy blues and greens as well as a few pale creams and pinks just to give the place a little bit of color. I chose to add gold accents to give the hotel an elegant look. There are plenty of furs, pillows and soft warm cozy feeling furniture and decor items placed throughout the hotel. I have uploaded this lot to the gallery as residential lot, but it works great as wedding venue or even a vacation rental or a generic lot as well. I play tested a wedding here and it seemed to go really well!
