@Piperbird1 - My sim has been trying desperately to lose what she gained. Eggs for breakfast and salad for dinner and working out every day. She even bought the Hardly Hungry reward. Can't tell that it has made much difference. She is thinking of buying the insta-lean potion.
That is still too much, especially if you have the hardly hungry. Let them get several hours into the red before feeding them. I feed my Sims less than once a day, probably every 30 hours or so. They seem to get hungry too fast with the salad, so they usually get the eggs and toast, or the yogurt.
Another Sim dieting tip: Make them stop eating when they are a hair less than full, even if they are not finished. My definitions:
- Full = the Hunger Needs bar is completed
- Finished = the little green circle that surrounds the Action icon is completed
With many foods, Sims will be
full when they are only 75%
finished (salad is an exception). I translate that into having your RL hunger satisfied but you keep on eating because, hey, there's still food on the plate. That extra 25% of eating helps to pack on the pounds, in Sim world and in RL. I'd had other Sims gain massive amounts of weight in other games (before I started this Challenge), so I knew that a confined Sim would balloon if I didn't keep close tabs on her consumption, since her options for exercise might be limited.
Neither of my Challenge Sims gained noticeable weight. The pictures I've posted are from after they finished the Challenge and both are quite trim.
One other note: I've read that if your Sims are in the lower half of body mass (in CAS), they'll gain weight slower and won't gain as much. I don't know if it's true or just urban rumor, but it's worth considering. Both my Sims were on the lower half of the scale.
Ahhh if RL dieting were as SIMple! Darnit, I was raised in the era of the "Clean Plate" club, mixed with a bit of the "Starving Children in XXX" club. /sigh, if only I could go back into a RL CAS! :D.
