Kaori and Warren marveled at the impossibility of what they were seeing.
"It's... it's... bigger in the inside!" said Kaori.
"How is this possible? Logic can't explain this!" said Warren.
The Counselor smirked. "Time Lord technology, my dear Warren. Think of how you can blot out the moon with your thumb. That's how it's bigger in the inside."
Warren asked if he can tour the TARDIS, and The Counselor gave him permission. No place was forbidden, so Warren explored the impossible space as much as he could.
"So, if you had to pick a time and place to travel to, where did you want to go?" asked The Counselor to Kaori.
She clenched her jaw and squinted her eyes.
"We can go way back or way forward. We can go off-world and out of this world. You name it, we're there," said The Counselor. "Barring any detours, of course."
"How about post-apocalypse Oasis Springs?" said Kaori.
"Odd," said The Counselor. He stepped up to the console and pressed M on the keyboard. "Done."
Kaori raised a brow. "That's it? Simple as that?"
"Open the door."
Kaori did so. She was greeted by the smell of smoke and the abrasive, dry air. The city towers that lined the horizon was split in half, crumbling and in rubble.
"Come," said The Counselor behind her, with Warren trailing. "I know a good restaurant nearby."
She wondered how a "restaurant" could survive the apocalypse. But as she neared the chain-link fence, she could hear laughter, chatter and music. Even when times were rough, the Sims were resilient. When she had asked to be taken to the far, apocalyptic future, she wanted to know if the Sims survived. She smiled at the sight of the shoddy restaurant that stood against all odds.
"Would you like our special for today?" asked the waitress. "Roast rat with basil."
"Why not," said Kaori.
"Make that two," said The Counselor.
"Just a salad, please," said Warren.
