Just a suggestion - if you have the Strangerville Pack, picking the right trait would mean your house could be affected by the Strangerville story even if they don't live there - scary vines blocking the drains, uninvited plants, becoming dazed while on your lot, the secret agents driving by occasionally.

You could solve this problem by proceeding through the Strangerville story - and start it back up again too.
