SUPER SIM CHALLENGE - STARTING AS A BABY - UPDATED SEP 30, 2023 (CURRENTLY ON HIATUS)

SUPER SIM CHALLENGE - BABY, INFANT & TODDLER STAGES

Starting the Super Sim Challenge, where you have one sim complete as many skills, aspirations and careers as possible in one lifetime. I thought it would be fun to start my Super Sim from the baby stage.

I created the "Dad" sim, with no skills, and had him start rags to riches in Chestnut Ridge. His name is Everett Maxx. His aspiration and traits were all randomly chosen. His aspiration is Nerd Brain and his traits are loves outdoors, music lover, and overachiever. He likes the color orange.

He started in Summer, 28 days, and for now Aging is on Normal. It will be changed to Long Life when Bailee becomes a Teen.

The lot is the 20 x 20 Cozy Corner House, in New Appaloosa, which was bulldozed and I added the Off-the-grid lot trait. Everett earned funds by taking an odd job at the community board by training the neighbor's horses. He did this non-stop for 5 days in a row and then had funds to build a small "tiny residential" home. The home has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a small kitchen and a living room. Just the basics. Here is how it looks now and is worth approx. $18K.

Once the house was built and furnished, Everett went to the local bar, the Oak Barrel, to find a sim he could have a baby with. Everett and Julia Wright (from the Discover University pack) began a relationship.

They actually eloped. I could have had Everett have a science baby with Julia, but that would have cost simoleons. So, Julia and Everett had a baby girl together, named Bailee Maxx. (randomly chosen first name). And because this wasn't about Julia and Everett's relationship, they promptly got a divorce after the baby was born.

Everett's sole purpose is to provide for Bailee and be the best Dad he can be. He has already maxed the parenting skill. He does not have a job. He does not go on outings or socialize, unless sims come to the property. Which is what happened with Kayla Flemming, who just appeared on his lot, wanted to be his BFF and then asked Everett to "take things to the next level" and is now his girlfriend. So, yeah, Everett now has a celebrity girlfriend! Other than Bailee, Kayla and Julia, he has one other friend who he met at the bar the first night, Badger Martinez, a townie.

Bailee aged up to Infant and got the Calm trait. (I don't have the Growing Together pack, so no infant milestones.)

When Bailee aged up to Toddler, she received the Happy Infant Trait. Her Toddler trait is Silly. There is one more day until she ages up and she is almost done all of her toddler skills. It is now the first day of Fall. Everett has decided to turn the power on to bake a cake for her birthday. lol

    I have been thinking about starting the Super Sim challenge, but just was never sure how I wanted to start. Can't wait to follow your super sim and see how things go!!

    Everett decided to throw a party for Bailee and invited everyone he knew. He even baked a cake. And a ghost entertainer shows up for the party. You just never know who is going to turn up when you hire an unknown staff member.

    Bailee maxed all the Toddler Skills of Communication, Imagination, Movement, Thinking, and Potty. These can all be done living off-the-grid. If you purchase the Wabbit Tablet it works off-the grid. She received the Top Notch Toddler Trait. Bailee rolls the Creative trait, so I choose Creativity for her Aspiration.

    Gifts from Dad. Everett knit Bailee a Clair the Bear toy and hand-crafted a violin on his workbench. (You need to have maxed the violin skill to craft one).

    Here are the new skill items needed for Bailee to complete her aspirations, activity table, a new toy box, Junior Wizard Science set, a doctor set (To increase the character value empathy skill), and a set of climbers. She already had the doll house.

    Everett had already purchased a chess table and chairs, and he also bought a computer and small stereo.

    The first thing Everett does is form a Club with just the two of them. This will boost skills and will change depending on what they are working on. They are still living in a tiny residential Tier 2 home, which will also boost skills. On the wall above the computer is a Focused painting that Everett painted. The focused mood is needed for programming and video gaming and doing homework.

    I changed the lot traits to Good Schools and Child's Play. They are now living on the grid because of the addition of the computer.

    Bailee enrolls in the Scout after-school program. (Do this as soon as they age up to Child).

    On her second day of school, she gets a project to do She has some helpers.

    She makes friends at school and other children come for visits. Bailee and Tomi Markovic (from Tartosa) become Partners in Crime and BFFs.

    After one week, Bailee completes all of the Scout badges and becomes a Llamacorn Scout. She gets the Scouting Aptitude trait.

    I then have her quit Scouts and join the after school Drama Club. (This one took awhile.)

    Bailee completed all her Aspirations in about 2 weeks. They went to Desert Bloom Park in Oasis Springs to play on the playground equipment, and she also did some fishing there for her Outdoor Badge for Scouts. To celebrate her achievements, Everett ordered a cheese pizza.

    Once all of her aspirations were completed, there are some skills that you can acquire as a child that will give you some skill as a teen. There may be others now, as this was written awhile ago. You can find more info about Child Skills in Carl's Sims Children Guide.

    So, Bailee maxed the following skills as well. Fishing, Logic, Video Gaming. Charisma, Mischief. Piano and Violin. Just so you know, when you work on the Mischief skill, this will bring down the Empathy Character Value.

    Because Everett is a super Dad, he taught Bailee how to knit.

    A Festival that you can only attend as a child is in Mt. Komorebi called the Festival of Youth. Bailee entered the Voidcritter Challenge and won! This was the first time I had a sim win this! And she got a Simmi Capsule from Yamachan. She hasn't opened it yet, but will when she is working on the Aspirations in Mt. Komorebi.

    Bailee had achieved an A in school, completed all her Aspirations, completed Scouts, maxed out all the extra skills, has three of the 5 character values maxed (Manners, Responsibility and Empathy), has a Good Reputation, but she still has not gotten to the top level in the after-school Drama Club. As I said, this took awhile, even though she practiced drama every day. But finally, she became a Junior Artiste and received the Drama Club Accolade from Del Sol Valley. It is a small statue and goes into the household inventory.

    It will soon be Bailee's teen birthday. At that time, she will be moving to Copperdale. She will be starting rags to riches, with 0 simoleons and only have items in her personal inventory which she crafted, found, was gifted or won. Everett will also be giving Bailee the sleeping bag, lantern and cooler that he started with.

    @WinterKhirin - Oh, thanks for following. If you would like to post your sim here and progress, we can encourage each other. lol

    @simgirl1010 - I was going to purchase the Growing Together pack to get those Infant milestones before I started this, but just went ahead without it. Any Super Sim ones I have seen start out with a YA. I thought I would try to get all those "special traits" from baby on up. I am not sure I will get all those Character Traits by the time Bailee ages to YA, but I am going to try my best.

    Also, as I started her out as a baby, I thought it would be good to go back to rags to riches (with just what she has in her inventory), when she moves out as a teen to Copperdale. I am trying to keep her in the same world she is doing the aspiration for, but sometimes, she will have to travel. I have some lots in Newcrest, a spa, bowling alley and restaurant that she will be using.

    After completing the Drama Club after-school activity, it was soon Bailee's teen birthday. But before that, Everett had a surprise for Bailee and they spent the day together exploring the neighborhoods of Chestnut Ridge.

    This gave Bailee a final opportunity to collect as much as she could and for Everett to snap some wonderful pics of his daughter. (Note: Children cannot harvest prairie grass from the new Horse Ranch pack).

    When they returned home, Everett took Bailee to meet his friend, Sienna Grove and her horse Flapjack. Everett had met Sienna at the Equestrian Center when he was training neighbor's horses. And tonight, Bailee would have her first riding lesson. (Yes, children can ride horses, and the horse actually sits down for the child to mount the horse.)

    Sienna and Everett gave Bailee a few pointers, and then she was off on a relaxed ride with Flapjack through the town. She had such a fun ride.

    The next day was Bailee's birthday, and she was up early doing some knitting.

    In the afternoon, Everett held a birthday party, and even sims he didn't know showed up. Here he is doing a cowpoke dance with his fiancee Kayla Flemming. (Note: A pop-up came up that Everett had found a ring in Kayla's bag, and Bailee advised him to make up his own mind. I guess he did and now he and Kayla are engaged. lol)

    Everett had met Ash Harjo when she was filming some footage at the Equestrian Center for her simfluencer career. He found out that Ash lived in Copperdale, and invited her to the party to get to know Bailee, who would soon be attending Copperdale High School. Bailee gets to know Ash over a game of chess.

    I got her the reward traits of Waterproof and Storm Chaser, as she had been fishing in a thunderstorm in Chestnut Ridge and was miserable. I also figured that Speed Reader would help with skilling.

    And here is Bailee as a teen! I went into CAS and changed all her outfits using the High School and Basegame packs. The only other things I had to "fix" were her hairstyle and her eyebrows. I thought she turned out surprisingly well for an in-game sim. She rolled the Adventurous trait and she will be working on all the Teen Aspirations. So, chose Goal-Oriented as her first one.

    She immediately quits the Drama Club and signs up for the Chess Team. Since she has maxed her logic skill, I thought this would be a good one to start with.

    These are the child skills that transferred to teen. As the article in Carl's Guide had not been up-dated, it looks like there are some other skills that can transfer from child to teen as well (such as Knitting, Horse Riding, Singing, Photography, Bowling, and possibly Cross-Stitch.} If I had known, I would have maxed her on those skills as well.

    SUPER SIM CHALLENGE - THE TEEN YEARS - MOVING TO COPPERDALE

    It is Sunday, and the first day of Winter. Oh gosh! Not a great way to start rags to riches living in the outdoors. I hope she doesn't freeze to death.

    But luckily for Bailee, I made a Tier 1 tiny residential shell of a house for her. It doesn't have any walls, but it does have a roof. Everything on the lot is from debug, except the mailbox. It is worth 0 simoleons. She has moved to the 20 x 15 Town Square Terrace lot in Prescott Square. There was a house there, but I bulldozed it. Her lot traits are set to teen neighborhood and study spot. i also checked Bailee's reward traits and she had enough points to purchase the frugal trait, which will help with the bills.

    I have played this world before, and normally start a rags to riches on the Little Falls Nook empty lot, but thought I would try something different this time. On the Little Falls Nook lot, I placed a bowling alley downloaded from the gallery.

    These are the items in the Household inventory that are Bailee's. The dresser is a reward for a Gold Birthday Party. She received birthday gifts of a lump of coal (really? lol), and a cookie jar. And, of course, her Drama club Accolade Award. These items will be placed on her lot in Copperdale

    She has quite a bit in her personal inventory. I switched to the appropriate aspirations, and she opened up the simmi capsule that she got in Mt. Komorebi, the fossils and the statues. She also received a lot of seed packs from the gnomes at Harvestfest, and surprisingly, the 3 gnomes fit in her inventory, too.

    Because she was moving, she also quit the club that she and her Dad were in to boost her skills. And so after a tearful good-bye from Everett...his little girl is growing up...Bailee is whisked off to Copperdale to her new home.

    Bailee puts a few items on her lot. She had knitted the mailbox, pouf and rug. As already mentioned, Everett gave her the sleeping bag, cooler and lantern that he started with. Everett crafted the violin and guitar and gifted them to Bailee. It doesn't look too bad. And to Bailee this is Home Sweet Home.

    Yes, she has a lot of items in personal inventory and I could sell those through her inventory to get her some simoleons, but wanted her to get a selling table to do that. Any simoleons she makes will come from playing instruments for tips, hacking, writing books, selling items through plopsy, or creating outfits in Trendi.

    Next, Bailee opens the Winter seasonal seed packs that she had in her inventory and switching aspirations to Freelance Botanist, plants some potatoes, snowdrops and Christmas roses and then waters them. (I often switch aspirations as I play depending on what my sim is doing). (Note: This sounded like a great plan, but 2 weeks later and nothing is ready for harvest as yet.)

    She decided to open a Social Bunny account, and did her first posts. She has three teen friends on here, Ash Harjo, Kaori Nishidake (from Mt. Komorebi), and Hugo Villareal (from Windenburg).

    Since she had already done her homework and played chess for her Chess Team, she decided that she would explore her neighborhood. She collects more collectibles. She also discovered that there was a grilling area near her home to the left near the water. To the right was also a small park with a chess set (across from ThriftTea). Straight ahead was the Lakeview Library with computers, a chess table and washrooms. There were also outdoor public restrooms across from the library. This would help until she got a toilet and shower.

    As it gets dark, Bailee heads over to the grilling area and grills some fish she has in her personal inventory. It's different eating alone, but she knows she will meet more sims. Tomorrow is the first day of high school and Bailee is feeling rather excited about it.

    Caught up and love the progress you're making. She has a unique beginning style and I love it. I can't wait to see her house grow as she makes money and grows. What have you found to make gameplay easier or more difficult so far by starting as an infant and having normal lifespan?

    I added Liam Beckett (from the High School trailer) and the high school versions of the Pancakes, Goths and Landgraabs (Sims 4: The High School Years) made by Maxis. I changed the rental lot (Hillside Haven in Plumbite Cove), to a residential lot and they live there.

    Since there are 4 Teen Aspirations, 2 teen jobs (Video Game Streamer & Simfluencer), and 4 teen high school after-school teams (Chess, Computer, Cheer and Football), this will take awhile. I have changed this to long life.

    Milestones for Week 1:

    Bailee's First Day was a whirlwind: She does the T=Pose. Also called the arm through the wall pose. lol

    Almost immediately after Sidney Price asks her to be BFF's, he asks her to prom as friends. Wow! Bailee gets invited to prom on her first day of high school!

    Here she is in her Social Studies class. At the end of the day, she has done good work. She is still a B student.

    Bailee decides to form her own club called Chillin' and Skillin' Teens. The aim of this club is to help with skilling and to get enough points to purchase the "Rally The Troops" reward . The first reward trait she picks is the homework reward trait, she also adds friendly and funny activities, as well as play chess. These will change as new skills, etc. are needed. The first sim she adds is Kaori Nishidake, who is also on the Chess Team. Throughout her first day, she meets other teens, and fills up the slots with Rohan Elderberry (from Britechester who is also on the Chess Team), Gemma Charm (from Glimmerbrook, another Chess Team member), Rahul Chopra (from Henford-on-Bagley), and Wolfgang Munch (from Windenburg).

    At this rate, Bailee is going to be BFFs with the entire school population and have crushes on everyone.

    She gets an invite from her original BFF Ash Harjo to sneak out of her house and come over to Ash's house. Sneak out? Bailee has no walls or windows and lives alone. lol (Apparently, you just click on the ground, and choose sneak out, and away she goes.)

And suddenly, Bailee has a bit of pink in her relationship with Liam without her even doing anything! Oh my! (I almost missed this, but caught the tail end of Liam blowing that kiss.     Week 1 Summary:

    It is the end of Week 1 and Bailee somehow has $3 simoleons to her name. Maybe she found some funds at the Fair. Who knows? Every teen friend she made, she added to her Social Bunny account and made posts everyday. She did homework, extra credit work, and played chess everyday with her club. She got the "Rally The Troops" reward in her club and this keeps them going until all hours of the night. She uses the school facilities to keep her hygiene levels up (wash hands, brush teeth, apply facial cleanser). She has a locker, and you can grab an apple, which helps with her hunger during the day, as she has no funds to buy lunch, and you can't start a club meeting at the school. Bailee maxed the Bowling skill, has completed Level 1 of the Admired Icon Teen Aspiration (Join a T-Pose Challenge; Make 10 Teen Friends & Post on Social Bunny 5 Times), and is at Level 2 on the Chess Team.

    Bailee is doing well, but I am exhausted just seeing all of the stuff that Bailee did! lol

    Tips:

    This is just an example of ways you can switch Aspirations to get more satisfaction points and help get some aspirations done. I usually pause the game and then switch aspirations.

    A good way to get reward points in the Friend of the World, Jokestar and the Teen Admired Icon Aspirations, is that when you meet a new teen, be on the Friend of the World. That will count as introducing yourself to a sim. Then, switch to Jokestar and tell them a joke, then switch to the Admired Icon Teen Aspiration and continue the conversation to make a teen friend.

    Jokestar: Be Funny to 5 Sims

    Admired Icon Teen Aspiration - Make 10 Teen Friends

    In the same manner, you can get points in the Teen Drama Llama Aspiration, by gossiping 5 times (this does not have to be 5 different sims), and spreading a rumor. And also, the Teen Live Fast Aspiration by pulling a prank (3 times).

    I added some tips on switching aspirations in my recent post. I started this out as a baby, however, I didn't just age them up when they were born, because that would be too easy. They had to first become Good Friends with the Dad, and then they got aged up. If you are starting rags to riches, don't buy a crib, as you get one for free when the baby is born, and then when they age up, you can sell it for $150 simoleons. (For this challenge, Everett did buy a crib, and then just sold it once they aged up and purchased a bed for the next stage with the funds). Since I don't have the Get Growing Pack, there were no Infant milestones, so that stage was rather easy.

    Since Everett did not have a job, he catered to Bailee's every need, so he just kept her well fed and happy as an infant and toddler. The hardest part about maxing the Toddler Skills is the Thinking Skill. The Wabbit Tablet is best, but there are things you can have the toddler go to with the "What's That?" interaction. This helps with Movement and Thinking, but I always find that Wabbit Tablet is best for that.

    I guess there are some new child aspirations in the Growing Together pack, but since I don't have that pack, I completed the regular ones. Scouting is my favorite after-school activity because just by doing everyday things, you complete badges. It goes really fast. On completion, getting the Scouting Aptitude reward trait makes earning future skills easier for your sim. Since the playground equipment is so expensive, I usually have my child travel to Willow Creek, Oasis Springs or Newcrest, as there is one there. Completing school projects with help boost the grade, as well as an adult helping with homework. Clubs from the Get Together pack are great for getting skills up fast as is living in a Tiny Living Residential house.

    If I was doing this with the Get Growing Pack, I would have it on long life from the start, and then once they completed their aspirations and get an A in school, I would age them up. But since it went so quickly with the baby, infant and child stages, I was on Normal life, and now have changed it to long life. You can also use the Potion of Youth (available with satisfaction points), to prolong your sims' life.

    Once you have enough satisfaction points, I would try to get the Savant trait. This trait helps increase your sims' skills. But it's 4,000 satisfaction points. So, other options are to get the Morning Sim and/or Evening Sim reward traits, as these boost skills, too. Free Services is a good one, because if your sim is struggling with hunger, they can order Pizza and Zoomers Food Delivery for free. Also, maid, gardener, repair services all for free. Because Bailee was living with her Dad at the time, she couldn't purchase the Frugal trait, but this is a good one because it helps with bills. Anyway, hope this helps.
