irl as kid I always had this awful white styrox style textured ceiling that couldn't be easily removed or painted hated it so much

these days I live in small log cabin with A frame ceiling all wood no paint and I love it so much I don't want to paint anything

best would be skylight but that comes with con of snow, lack of privacy, sunlight which can be deadly to vampire such as myself

Look up galaxy/star projectors. They look so cool. Some of them can be semi affordable around $40. The dirt cheap ones don't seem to get great reviews. I want one but would rather spend that money on video games or my cats. :lol:

I actually have a star projector. Makes for pretty atmospherical movie nights as well. Too bad the stars are green, of all colours...

What did you use for that?

It's an animated cc floor texture by Bakie that actually sparkles, especially with lights on. It also exists as a wallpaper. Here are the links if you're interested:

If I understand well what you are adding is a texture (wood or tiles), but you cannot add simply a colour?

Last night I specifically tried and STILL couldn't see the ceiling in my game. The new ceiling feature looks nice but I think I definitely will not end up using it.

Which basement ceiling is the real ceiling that I should paint, the upper one or the lower one? It's hard to see all of the lower ceiling, but the upper ceiling doesn't seem to be divided up by room.

Same here I’ve struggled to understand it and even tried it with move objects on cheat and still can’t paint ceilings so I’ve given up for now

I’ve tried everything people have suggested and still I keep getting white ceilings in my basements. It’s not a mod or cc issue as before the update I took my mods out and I have no cc. Also I haven’t put the mods back into my game yet as they were career mods for a different household. Maybe it’s a bug for me.
