@Buttonsginger is having issues with her internet. I will try to contact her to get an official answer. The main idea was to earn points to gain the Youth Potion. Personally I do not see any reason not to use Cowplant elixir on occasion. As I said I will let her rule officially.
Hope you are having fun with the challenge. My Highlander has seen many generations of the townspeople come and go at this point. I am on a temporary break from this challenge to play another one but it is still going strong.

First please excuse my lateness but I am having internet/PC issues and RL is also demanding most of my time lately.
I would say the Highlander should only use the youth potion but other household members could drink the cowplant elixir. EuphorialQueen is correct that earning points for the youth potion is one of the main goals of this challenge. Of course, it is your save and you can adjust things as you wish. ;)
