I would really like to see sculpture as a skill like painting that a Sim improves from 1-10. I love the creations made from the lump of clay but the art disappears as the next Sim handles the clay. I want the art to stay and be displayed. I also like the work table - but the variety of sculptures is very limited. How about enabling art creations with the lump of clay - a bigger lump of clay - the work table - different sizes of stone - and a pottery wheel?

I ended up putting the clay creations behind a glass wall, so no sims can remould them. I love the clay creations. We certainly need more creative hobbies like this. When Dine out was in creation we had the weird inventory bug with food plates. I'm hoping the weird stars in inventory for wood sculpting is because they are working on other creative hobby packs or even better a EP with loads of hobbies. I would love pottery back in the sims. Even Stone carving would be a great addition :smile:

Yeah, there should be an option to put it in an oven or kiln or something so that it can't be changed anymore.

A few weeks ago my sister and I were brainstorming 'What skill does the Sims 4 need most?' and she said SCULPTURE! Expanding the lump of clay, adding pottery, then as you go up in the skill even being able to carve a marble block... which would be a pretty similar mechanic to the bonsai tool except that you could keep it as a statue on display rather than it growing back. We are 100% behind you on this one. :smiley: There is CC that gives the lump of clay a lot more options, making decorative teacups and things.

I ended up putting the clay creations behind a glass wall, so no sims can remould them. I love the clay creations. We certainly need more creative hobbies like this.

Great idea. The clay makes great art works. The work table should be modified to make more sculptures as skills increase -

A mod was made to create some craftable pottery over at MTS using the lump of clay if you are into using mods.

I had to laugh because I was hanging out with Uncle Frenchie and Nannette while they ate breakfast before going to the Bistro to open - I noticed out the window Mary - my grandparents beloved housekeeper and maker of all things awesome and delicious - was giving it the what for to something...I had to zoom in to see what it was, she was just pounding the heck out of a lump of clay from their home. Apparently she was upset about something and I wasnt sure what so I watched her for a while, she is a family sim, cheerful and neat - true to form she walked over to a nearby park and started chatting up Winnow Payne and some other kidlet and if by magic it solved all her troubles, she sauntered off happy after a few minutes of conversation.

It would be very fun being able to make sculptures, sell them, or just place it at home. Sims 3 didn't(or it has? don't remember), but Sims 2 has a pottery skill which came in hobbies expansion pack.
Sims 4 needs others artistic skills like floral arrangement(something to use the flowers we plant).

@Trendorina - The work table makes sculptures but those are very limited - horse, elephant, etc. There are a few emotional sculptures available - flirty, playful - the work table would be a good place to start expanding sculptures...but I would like to see a more artistic skill progression rather than handy.

I would LOVE to see flower arrangements possible.

Sorry, I've used the wrong words. When I talked about sculptures, I was talking about potery skill.

And yes, flower arrangement. I really miss this skill from Sims 2.
