I know this post is extremely old- but it's ongoing. ^.^
I personally find this idea fantastic! As some have mentioned living in "Tornado Alley": I do myself and in no way find it offensive. I have had major damage to my city, neighborhood/house, etc- yet the realistic aspect of this is intriguing. I have always worked in Technology and freelance animation. Video production through sims has always been a hobby and is what began my career and education options. Would be nice to have pre-created disasters/effects for video projects and it will also help me better stage my own creations through 3D Animation software. It is a ball field providing great practice!
I too am bored with the same old same. I do not mind upgrading my computer to support qualifications as I custom build top of the line. I need something new. More realistic and adult versions of the Sims experience for those who have stuck around from day 1 in 1999/2000. With age many of us have grown out of the original game play. I have always suggested a separate version of sims solely for content creators, modders, and video editors. A version we can hack up, break apart, and exaggerate to our needs. This group doesn't mind upgrading everything they own as they do it already. Leave the normal boring game play for the new and less involved.
