What new hobbies or skills would you like to see.

In the past Sims games we've seen lots of skills and hobbies. What would you like to see in the games?

We've had a makeover station, tattoo station, sculpture, car repair, nectar making, dancing, clothing design, we even had acting and runway modelling in the Sims 1. What else do you want to see?
  • Additionally, I would like to see swimming skill. Ability to teach how to swim from toddler to elder. Helper tools or safety aids for sims who don't know how to swim. Different styles of swimming and courses...

I really hope they improve the sims 4 dancing, specifically slow dancing and actually have them dance together facing each other connected. The way it is now, it sucks, they can't even have a proper first dance at their wedding. Also, I'd love to see them bring back the drums and add some more cool instruments to play, but allow the kids to play as well.
  • Bumping for the sake OF IT NEEDS TO BE BUMPED!!!! This is needed!!!! Sims need a plethora of things to do and places to go for "FUN"!!!

Yes to everything here. I would also love:
    - a flower arrangement skill. To give some use to the flowers already in game and have different new bouquets and stuff to decorate with.
    - candle and soap making (again, the flowers could be use)
    - scuba diving (altought for that we would need to be able to swim in bodies of water to start with)
    - old furniture restoration/stained glass
    - nectar/ olive oil making (would be perfect for a new Mediterranean world)
    - Robotics

A simmer after my own heart. Love the idea of adding olive oil making with the nectar making to make a more Mediterranean feel. Plus the idea of the old furniture restoration sounds beautiful and I can see a grandpa sim making some furniture for their grandkids weddings as a gift. Absolutely lovely suggestions.
  • Honestly, I'd support anything, but here are some I'd really like to see:

    • Sketching
    • Vehicle repair and customization
    • Martial Arts/Swordplay/Proper Boxing
    • Building supercomputers
    • Dancing, especially slow dances and couple dances
    • Electric guitar
    • Inventing
  • I'd love to see:

    Hobbies
    1. Different styles of Dance- Ballet, ballroom, salsa, tango, etc... I'd be happy with any and all
    2. Sewing and clothing design.
    3. Collecting for children (and the young at heart) like baseball cards and stamps
    4. Jewelry making-I'd be thrilled if they could wear and show off what they'd made
    5. Sculpting - Not just traditional sculptors wheel/potters wheel, but blow torches and metal, shrubbery, Ice, etc...
    6. Cycling- I know this is controversial because of the whole vehicle yes or no thing, but a great part of childhood was getting my first bike and riding all over the neighborhood with my friends. I'd love my sim kids to be able as well.
    7. A chemistry (child style) set for the kids to learn and create wonders with. I know this is more an item than a hobby, but I think its both really. They could hunt for plants and herbs and metals to use in their chemistry experiments.
    8. There's probably more but I'm suddenly drawing a blank.

    Skills
    1. the skills associated with the hobbies items of course
    2. swimming- getting better at swimming could open up opportunities and new swimming style abilities as leveled
    3. Nutrition- Learning the nutrition skill and making healthier life choices could give them an age extender, or change their appearance, make them never get sick again, lead to a new job as nutritionist or health profession of some sort.
There are so many great things already in game like rock collecting and harvesting and the like, I'd love to see a skill set added that would take advantage of as many of the existing features as possible. Its why I thought the Collecting hobbies would be great because your sims would have a goal to work towards rather than just a cash grab.
