Would you like a Heist pack?

I was coming up with this weird idea for a heist pack, which involves not just cops and robbers, but citizens as well.

Long story short- the citizens run businesses and make money to increase the security of their businesses. The robbers, obviously, will try to steal these items and sabotage the security systems. The cops, on the other hand, get paid in tax money to stop the robbers.

The game play is very delicate. Too many robbers mean the cops are working overtime, which means there's a good chance they're too busy to help you. Too many cops means higher taxes. However, higher citizens means the cops and robbers are sprawled all over, making it difficult for the cops to defend everyone. Which side are you on, and how do you plan to keep the balance... or utterly destroy it? If we have EL, they could add new NAPs to change things around and further impact the balance.
  • I would like a heist pack, but I'd much rather have it focused solely on the heists themselves. You know, getting a crew together, planning, execution, the getaway...that sort of stuff! Bringing in managing your own security systems and taxes would just make things boring.

I'd also like to see different tiers of targets. Your gang can start small with home break-ins and "juice" store robberies, but as your gang gains experience and skill, you can target jewelry stores, banks, museums, casinos...maybe even a government installation or two...Make climbing up the ranks fun and challenging! There could always be a chance that the heist can fail. One false move, one failed charisma check, one fumbled handiness roll, and you may have to beat a hasty retreat without the loot or try and salvage things with a dicey maneuver! That's the heist gameplay I want to see! Meaty, tense, chaotic, tightly-coordinated, and exciting!
  • I wouldn't want an all out gangster pack that involves the whole neighbourhood, because it might turn out like the NAPs. But some sort of active criminal careers would be nice. In TS2 there were robbers and charlatans. In TS4 we have kleptomaniacs and card game swindlers. Maybe if they brought back the charlatan, or maybe add various kinds of criminals like fake art dealers, pick pockets, insurance scams, etc.
  • Should be free, because those robbers were free in the previous games. Don't want to pay extra just so someone could steal from my sims' homes. And the other things you mentioned--they could maybe just add those in a possible Get to Work refresh, I guess.

Like firefighters, this should be a base game update, or better yet, a Get to Work refresh.

I would also love a heist pack like this ⬆️
  • I don't really need whole new pack i feel like burglars and criminals kinda things would work best as get to work refresh because we have the detective things in that pack
