Would you like to have grocery stores in TS4 ?

Would you like to have a grocery store lot where your sims would go grocery shopping, could work at, or own ?

  • Oh please no. I can't imagine something more boring than watching sims buying groceries. There's so many more exciting things they could add to the game instead.

If the counter hit zero, a sim could no longer cook because the fridge was empty. Besides going to a store there was an option to have groceries delivered (delivered in a basket by a npc, not magically appear in the inventory).

I absolutely agree, Those were the little things I appreciated about sims 2. I really like the entrepreneur idea and so I would like to be able to use the gardening tool and cooking/baking/gourmet option to create a supermarket store. I don't like the auto restock.

  • A grocery store sounds amazing! It would especially be nice if players can build their own. It should also be possible to own a grocery store. Or a sim can transform a retail to grocery or have a combination of both. With grocery stores can also be the ability to buy the house and store on the same lot; it would be fun to have a sim live in the same building as their store. It's also a great opportunity to add more foods and produce.

My main concern with grocery stores would be how often the sims need to go to them. I don't want my gameplay taken over by going to the store every three days. Maybe there can be an option in settings to disable, lengthen or shorten the time span in which sims have to go to the store.
  • Sure.

Grocery stores could act like those vendor stalls, so you can buy fresh fruit/veggies/fish, but presented in a new way. Sort of like how Realm of Magic has those magic stalls that look like they're inside a building, these would be stalls that blend in with a lot's walls. So your Retail lots could have additional businesses that you don't have to run yourself--or you could build a coffee shop, with a grocery store "next door".

I don't think there's enough gameplay for a Sims 2-style grocery store. It's just not THAT interesting. But a vendor stall with a new look? Absolutely.

Same could work for clothing stores--storefronts where your Sim can purchase new, unlockable outfits (like the Spice Festival tees).

I've thought before that it'd be great if there was an indoor shopping mall neighborhood, with teens hanging around, window-shoppers, etc.
It could come with a new ownable business of some sort (but of course you could plop down restaurants and retail businesses in the mall if you so chose).

Something like The Sims Freeplay's Sunset Mall could work really well for grocery stores, as in, the grocery is basically a facade that slots into a wall:

No worry, delivery is an option!

Oh my God!! I don't know TS 2 is so much fun, no wonder many said: "Bring back TS 2 but with TS 4 graphic".

Since TS 4 doesn't require any ingredients to cook, it makes gardening totally useless. I heard that having higher quality ingredients from gardening didn't make any significant difference. That why I didn't do any gardening in TS 4 (except when I want to get super rich by selling tons of dragonfruit).
