Would you like to have a grocery store lot where your sims would go grocery shopping, could work at, or own ?

A supermarket/grocery store lot, similar to retail stores, where my sims could go grocery shopping like regular people (rater than have everything appear In the fridge), where sims could work, or that you could own. I might be the only one, but I liked going to the Grocery Store In TS3 (even though it was a rabbit hole). So I’d like to have one in TS4 too.

1000000% yes. This is one of features I want more than anything else. It's mind boggling that we still don't have grocery stores in a 6 year old LIFE SIMULATOR.

Only if I could still "order in" on a per meal basis.The only reason I go to the store in person IRL is because I like control over what produce and meats I get and I know what I can do without and what I must find a substitute for - and what substitutes work for whatever I'm planning. It's a level of nuance I don't need in a game where 24 hours in game takes 30 minutes in reality.I have so many other things I want my sims to be doing - skilling up, collecting, writing books, harvesting the garden, etc - and stories I want to tell (I don't need "difficulty" to make the game fun) that having to put that on hold to send someone to the grocery store ... no thanks. Maybe if it didn't put the whole plum household on pause for actually getting stuff done when I left the lot, it might be interesting on occasion.They did introduce the produce kiosk in City Living, so there's some precedent for it. And I wouldn't mind if they had something similar for meats, dairy, breads and such, and the overall cost was less than if you just paid for ingredients as you do now.I wouldn't mind if they added a Grocery store.I just don't want it to be mandatory.

Instead, give me some actual goals and motivations with challenges. Remove the reward store, or at least remove all "cheats" (the mermaid kelp, the potions, the total immunity to needs). Make it almost impossible to reach more than one aspiration per lifetime and only make it possible to change the aspiration when you age up so picking the correct one will be important. Make me CARE about skilling up, and not just see it as something I fast-forward thru to reach my next 100 rewards points in my latest Aspiration (of what I will have completed about 6 aspirations at death, having 30 000 reward points and earning 12 000 Simolions a day. As I said, Sims 4 has 0% challenge for anything).

Would you like to have grocery stores in TS4 ?

I would love to have grocery stores back in the game but only if they disable the automatic buying of missing ingredients for cooking. It goes without saying that sims will be able to order ingredients online, as they seem to be able to buy anything online nowadays. Also, I think it would be lovely if they integrate grocery stores with gardening and fishing and collecting, so that sims who grow/collect vegetables or fish could sell their surplus to the grocery stores or open their own vegetable/fish selling stands.

I agree with @crocobaura. It's the gameplay that makes the difference, and gardening and fishing in this iteration has always felt meaningless because there is no truly meaningful gameplay associated with doing it. If they put a building of a grocery store in the game with sims walking around in it playing with their cellphones, it will do nothing. It would be the same as if they gave us a painting or video of a grocery store.

Whenever we ask for things like this, it's the gameplay that we want, not just another meaningless building filled with meaningless townies doing meaningless things. I liked how in Sims 3 you had to have the ingredients to cook the meal for free, or choose to pay full price for it if you didn't have the ingredients. And I liked the grocery options in Sims 2 as well.

Some combination of it all would be so wonderful and make a big difference in how my Sims' lives are structured and the choices they have to make. A game toggle for only being allowed to cook meals you had the ingredients for would be great, and other options for those who didn't want to play that way. I would love to play in survival mode for most of my sims, but be able to choose not to if I felt like taking a break from that and doing it a more "normal" way that still involved buying groceries or keeping proper ingredients on hand somehow.

I would love the game so much more if it had this in it.

Hate to break this to the eveything is spoon fed crowd, but in the real world one must go to the store to get one's munchies. That or phone in a bulk order and have it delivered. Same goes for clothes & accessories, books, magazines, games for the computer, assorted hand held gizmos, and some forms of entertainment. What's good for us should be for our sims, and was in TS2. There were even wants in that version related to going out to shop. These were also opportunities to meet other sims of all sorts and socialize the old fashioned way. I've even had sims find jobs, mates, and discounts that way. When buying things sims actually pulled out $, handed it to the clerk, and a real transaction was made, not mere disappearing funds in red floating by. One more instance of the old way being the better way!

I live in the real world and have groceries delivered occasionally. I order online with Instacart, Peapod, or Amazon Fresh and bulk ordering is not required. I also order all of the other items you mentioned online. Movie tickets, concert tickets, video games, jewelry, gifts, toiletries, books and magazines on Kindle, etc. Can't remember the last time I went to an actual store to shop for clothing. So I'd love to have the option for in store purchasing and online delivery.

Yeah, and that's why I play the Sims. TO GET AWAY FROM THE REAL WORLD. I don't want the game to reflect reality perfectly. That's why I like the game the way it is.

What I liked about the Sims 2 grocery store was the freezer cases, the fruit and veggie displays and the checkouts with the cashier. I also liked that you could sell the fruit and veggies that your Sim grew. For those folks who want to have farms, Farmer's markets and Grocery stores are how you would sell your crop.

I'd also like to phone or order groceries online and have someone deliver them from the grocery store.

Only if it would add some fun game play features. I would find it boring to just go shopping for food. If it would be similar like going shopping to retail stores from Get To Work, no thanks, I never go to those stores in Magnolia promenade and I often delete them to place other community lots in there.

I'd like to see my sims pushing shopping carts, pick up stuff, chose their groceries etc, some could even try to shoplift....Also run a grocery store could be nice.

Sims 2 also had grocery deliveries. I use that feature a lot for my busier households. There was also (I believe) a quality bonus when cooking with fresh produce so I had a grocery store that only sold fresh prdocue grown by farmer Sims in the neighborhood. I thought of it as organic food vs non-ogranic food. The system we have now, (forever food fridges) could have been a cool aspiration award.
