- i agree need farmer markets, grocery stores
- God no! But if they put them in, can they at least give us the option to do like how we did in Sims4 for food, and not have to ho through the gates of perdition personally? I grocery shop all the time irl and don't wanna have to, just to have food in the fridge, in game! It's like laundry..real life supplies enough of that.

see, that was what killed my enthusiasm in the previous versions, was too much time to do every little thing...relationships took forever, and everything ate up all the minutes left in the day, now gotta grocery shop? My married couple became strangers and had a lousy life living on jam sandwiches til they died young of heart attacks from their unhealthy lifestyle. It was a mercy in their case. If I had to go back to that kind of game, my sima would legit live on pizza delivery and bar drinks so if they died young, at least they had fun first.
100% yes. I don't like how the food appears to be in the fridge out of thin air. I would love to have grocery stores.
As a long time sims 2 fan, I still like how it was handled in that version. Fridges had a capacity that needed to be filled. If the counter hit zero, a sim could no longer cook because the fridge was empty. Besides going to a store there was an option to have groceries delivered (delivered in a basket by a npc, not magically appear in the inventory).
Groceries and actually paying for clothes would add so much realism to the game.- I want the game for the fun stuff, not life's hassles, so for those who want more of the endless menial chores that eat up the precious minutes every day, I get it, especially if you haven't yet had your fill of it irl, but I hope those of us who just wanna party in the game, can skip the drudgery and have the same options we have now in sims4...just leave us our options. ?
- Yes, yes, yes and yesss!
I already put them sometimes in my game.
I use a cooking overhaul mod for that, but sometimes the mod I use is too much for me. - Leydi_TeeNew SpectatorYes, yes, yes. I loved going to the store in TS3. TS4 having a grocery store would make food shopping a lot easier, especially if we had the ability to shop for recipes. I also would not mind getting a scented laundry item from the store.
- Yes but it should be optional, like laundry, is because not everyone sees the appeal.
- What if we added vehicles with market/clothing vendors?? We could have a sims version of "walmart" and be able to park the car and go inside to shop and purchase anything from clothes to a new video game to snacks to groceries...And the clothing centers could have the ability for mannequins to wear the latest trends from the famous sims in game or if your sim becomes 5 star famous, the store can hold/sell their clothing. We could also be able to purchase posters from the latest band or famous person for our teens to hang up in their room to crush over or be inspired by! And of course, we could order a grocery delivery or purchase shoes online just as we order a pizza. However, it will be an added chore to purchase the groceries since we didn't have to automatically buy things when pulling it out of the fridge. But to make it simple, we could order the groceries via the phone and have a button to "fully stock fridge". and the groceries can be delivered within an hr or two.
- A grocery store sounds amazing! It would especially be nice if players can build their own. It should also be possible to own a grocery store. Or a sim can transform a retail to grocery or have a combination of both. With grocery stores can also be the ability to buy the house and store on the same lot; it would be fun to have a sim live in the same building as their store. It's also a great opportunity to add more foods and produce.
My main concern with grocery stores would be how often the sims need to go to them. I don't want my gameplay taken over by going to the store every three days. Maybe there can be an option in settings to disable, lengthen or shorten the time span in which sims have to go to the store. - Sure.
Grocery stores could act like those vendor stalls, so you can buy fresh fruit/veggies/fish, but presented in a new way. Sort of like how Realm of Magic has those magic stalls that look like they're inside a building, these would be stalls that blend in with a lot's walls. So your Retail lots could have additional businesses that you don't have to run yourself--or you could build a coffee shop, with a grocery store "next door".
I don't think there's enough gameplay for a Sims 2-style grocery store. It's just not THAT interesting. But a vendor stall with a new look? Absolutely.
Same could work for clothing stores--storefronts where your Sim can purchase new, unlockable outfits (like the Spice Festival tees).
I've thought before that it'd be great if there was an indoor shopping mall neighborhood, with teens hanging around, window-shoppers, etc.
It could come with a new ownable business of some sort (but of course you could plop down restaurants and retail businesses in the mall if you so chose).
Something like The Sims Freeplay's Sunset Mall could work really well for grocery stores, as in, the grocery is basically a facade that slots into a wall:
