3-Month Kitpansion, Constantly DownDate: Leave Mods Alone

Hello,

After the August 19th update, I really felt the need to make my voice heard. With this patch, the game now allows disabling certain expansion packs, similar to The Sims 3. However, I don’t want to give up the mods that make the game amazing because of this update. Honestly, it makes me sad that mod creators—who often do more to improve the game’s fun and depth—are being burdened with fixing their own mods after every nonsensical update.

If EA wants to take inspiration from The Sims 3, the only truly valuable feature you should consider bringing back is the open world option, not the deactivation of already purchased expansion packs. I truly miss the open world, and I know I’m not alone in this. If the attempt to bring back an open world caused bugs, I wouldn’t mind at all. But breaking the game simply to limit it—feels very disappointing.

No matter how many expansion packs you release, it often feels like what you truly want is to focus on pushing out another kit every three months, and you’d love it if we were satisfied with only that (ugly hairstyles that are never used, ridiculous clothing, and a few furniture pieces don’t excite us—please leave this entirely to the mod creators).

What we, the community, really want is development in the depth of Sims’ relationships and life simulation aspects, not just small cosmetic additions. That’s where the true magic of The Sims lies. If you cannot achieve this, please consider rolling back the latest update—I have no intention of deactivating the mods that make the game so enjoyable or the expansion packs I’ve paid for.
