I think EA needs to develop a Will option to allow Sims to pass on simoleons, lots and pets to family, friends or a charity!

If the rumored death pack is coming. You might just get your wish. Though you could use MCCC which has the ability to past down inheritance to family members. I just adjusted my game so elders can age up and die. I had got 20 notifications for elders who died in one swoop. I was reaching 800 sims so I'm going to leave them deceased. They were the Patriarch and Matriarch of their families. It's sad to see some of my favorites go before we get the death expansion pack. 😭
