The steps shared above should work for Custom Venues as well, as long as you meet the other needed criteria like dog friendly objects outlined in the full post.

If you're not able to do so, please share more info so we can take a look.

The steps mentioned do not populate the venue with non-household pets, which is what I would expect from a custom venue.
