@DJoyVee if you have Get to Work, the way I do it is to craft everything and sell all of the items in my retail lots. My Jeweller, Florists, Nectar Makers, Artists, Sculptors, etc all have stores selling what they've made.
It's particularly useful for the jewellery. If I'm creating a new Sim I'll have my Jeweller Sim create a whole range for them and on their first day in the world they head to the store and buy it to wear.
Since it's not possible to buy them to order as you've suggested, it's a workaround. If you have Lovestruck there are some items you can buy at the little shop, like Nectar and bouquets. Sims can order things from the phone too depending on what packs you have like with the Plopsy app but for custom items this is how I do it.

@simsplayer818I've used many of those workarounds, but it doesn't make sense that we have to use workarounds or other packs to enjoy items that come in a different pack without downloading from the gallery or becoming a master crafter. And I like the small shops and Plopsy, like I mentioned, but again, those require DLC and what I'm suggesting is a base game function that allows all players to enjoy all of the craftable items in the game, regardless of the packs they've purchased and regardless of the skill levels of their Sims. It is fun to run stores and place them to buy items, but it would be GREAT not to have to do that when that isn't the focus of the gameplay.
