Active Imagination Trait Making Child Sims Energized

Hello! As you may see from the title or may have experienced through gameplay, the "Active Imagination" character trait that we unlocked during the forever friends event makes child sims energized. I frequently get a "creative spark" mood buff which gives me Energy +4, which actively prevents me from being more creative and completing the Artistic Prodigy aspiration. I don't understand why an imagination centered trait gives you something that not only doesn't help, but is actually making it harder to complete the creativity aspiration!

My sim keeps being inspired, which is what you need to complete the creativity aspiration, then he gets a "creative spark" which then makes him energized because it overpowers the things I do to make him inspired and turns the other buffs to be energized. Being energized does not help with creative aspirations or activities, it actively makes it harder. This trait is not useful for creative sims and I think everyone would use it more if it gave you an Inspired +4 mood buff instead, which makes more sense anyways for a "Creative Spark".

TLDR: My proposition is to change the buffs provided from the "Active Imagination" trait from Energized +4 to Inspired +4, in order to make the trait more usable for creative sims.

  • I could not agree more! This made the artistic prodigy aspiration almost impossible.

Yes! It makes it harder to complete the aspiration that it matches with the most 😭

  • I have not found that trait making the aspiration harder, but may it is because I stack multiple inspiration moodlets to get the first part of the aspiration done. After that, the rest of the aspiration does need the inspired buff. My child sims can end up getting bored more than energized, based on how I play.

I see, the way I play it makes it way harder. I only really have the shower and looking at art on the computer to get my child sims inspired, I don't have may packs. But from what I know being inspired also helps the child to get the creativity skill faster, so constantly being energized makes it slower all around. (Although I just know this from looking it up so I may have false information, please let me know if I'm wrong)

Inspired mooslets don't really make it any faster, at least from my experience. I can get the creative aspiration done in about 5 sim days. I think you can daydream via base game (click on sim). I think outdoor retreat introduced cloud gazing, but not sure. My sims do not really get energized as children.
