I entirely agree. If you want to be a fairy right away, you can always make one in CAS. Why even have an option in gameplay to become a fairy if it's not any amount challenging? I wish the seed wasn't available to purchase at the very least. I would also be fine with having to grow the plant for a week or also having to get your friendship higher with Mother Nature for her to bestow the potion.
I also don't understand why they created two new deaths specifically for fairies but it's extremely difficult to have a fairy sim die either way. You have to actively try to overload or starve emotionally. I'm not a huge occult player but I was partially interested in fairies once they revealed the skill tree. It's the most detailed skill tree of all occults in the game, but not having any challenge in trying to manage your emotional levels is really disappointing. I'm not buying this pack ever unless this is tweaked. No matter how much I want functional indoor plants.
Slightly related: I remember a survey from after Businesses and Hobbies asking about the difficulty level in leveling up your business, and it made me think they heard everyone complaining about how easy the Bucket List is in Life and Death and tried to learn from that in the next pack. Why apply lessons to a whole new gameplay mechanic instead of just fixing the tuning in the previous pack or giving us difficulty options? We can choose the lifespan settings. Why not let me set the difficulty of the Bucket List or my small business ranking or my sim's needs? Then everyone can just choose how they want to play instead of EA dictating it to us.
