I personally never use CC for Sims, as much of the time it doesn't fully match the game and usually CC heavy games creep me out XP I have to admit, I am even more weirded out by creator kits, as it feels odd to pay for CC and some (again) don't fully match the game. But that is me.
However, some are very talented creators and if the only way they can get money from their creations is via these creator packs and EA gets a cut or most of the profits, I mean it is the only way a creator can legally get money from their creations, right? Otherwise it has to be free or it breaks the ToS of the Sims/EA, at least that is how I assume it works.

Patreons can pay monthly even if the content is not paywalled. Peacemaker has a patreon with 50,000 followers (free and paid) and while I'm sure it's not make-a-living money, trust me, he makes some money.
It's not really about that, though. It's about EA choosing to "use up" a kit slot with content that already exists...for free. And about CC creators putting out content they've already made...at a price. And about the content being lower quality than the CC...it's all the other stuff, combined, that makes it just weird.
Ultimately to me the big issue is "This could've been something entirely new for everybody" and it just plain has less purpose when another version already exists for free. Like quite literally from the same creator. It doesn't even have the benefit of being "another spin on it by someone else", it's the same guy! Like why do that!
The kit inherently has less value for *every* PC player because the theme is already available for free by the exact same creator. Kits should be new content nobody has access to yet. (And I don't mean that in a "Dont ever make a kit that follows a theme CC already did" way- that's one thing. Having the. exact. same. creator. rehash something. they. already. did. for a kit is another entirely. It's just...why.)
