Having the daily rewards time-locked to specific real-life dates is a really, really bad idea.
Here's why;
Firstly, it basically locks what is supposed to be FREE content from new players, should they unfortunately pick up the game a few months from now, and those items are already way gone on the roster of new items.
Secondly, and what is specifically really important to me, is how it's going to alienate disabled simmers like myself. Due to various medical conditions, I do NOT have the energy to hop on the Sims every single day to hit a quota. Which sucks! Because I love the game, and I love when new content comes out, but I have more important things to handle in my day-to-day life than collecting Sims content from time-restricted events. This also applies to Simmers who have jobs, or families, or other real world obligations. We can't all live on the game full-time.
Instead of having it locked to real dates, make it something that is available permanently for people to slowly build up their logins to collect.
The real world is already inaccessible enough for disabled people. We don't need to add videogames to that.
I just learned about the upcoming locked content and I am truly disappointed and angry. I completely agree with your comment and I hope more of the community can come together to make sure this doesn't become a regular thing. The locked content from previous releases is infuriating enough, now they are basically putting pop-up ads on a game I've invested so much money into. There are accessibility challenges and a general feeling from the community that this model is just adding stress to something that is suppose to be fun and stress free. Please EA listen to the people that are playing your game. Do not do this! In the last 24 hours it's clear how the community feels about time sensitive locked content and it's not good.
