Deactivate objects

Can we have a way to deactivate objects like fireplaces, barbecues and microwaves, so they can never be used by sims unless you activate them?

I feel like everytime a house has a barbecue or a microwave the sims will abuse of its use causing them to start fires or get constantly uncomfortable. For fireplaces the sims are always driven to it, lighting it up, staying there even when you don't want it. Its fires also causes much fps drops when i played on a laptop that didn't match the minimum requirements, so it can be a problem to other people too.
