Does this mean no hotels?

With the introduction of Adventure Awaits, do you think this is the closest we will get to a hotels pack or do you think we could still end up getting an EP dedicated specifically to hotels? Is that something you would want?

  • I think so (getting an EP dedicated specifically to hotels). This pack seems more like hotel/resorts as a "getaway" lifestyle. Having hotels/resorts as a business IHMO is still on the table. They easily can use a travel destination world ideal for hotels, Sims 4 has so many beautiful worlds but there are so many more possibilities. They still can have unique activities and/or bridge over existing activities (just probably not exactly what is featured in AA).

A hotel is a hotel whether you own it or just visit as a guest. I don't think we are getting hotels in this EP. A getaway is another name for a vacation, so that does not necessarily imply a hotel stay. They specifically said camp, and I think the camp is going to be much like the recreation center from Growing Together EP where sims could cook, sleep, and do activities on the lot. Or it may just be a regular vacation rental. Then there is also the option for custom venues. We don't know much about them at this point except that they can function as two separate lot types at different hours (smoothie bar by day and nightclub by night). I am waiting to see how versatile they are and what we can do with them. There is a weird looking building in the trailer at 2:38 minute mark that to me looks like some sort of escape room venue, or at least a very fun house.

  • Based on the trailer we won't be getting an hotel but maybe who knows in the near future?

It's one of the popular request at this moment

But i do love what they have in store, i once made a list before "High School Years" came out and some of my list are included👍

A few of my list came with "Growing Together" and the other few comes with this upcoming pack😇😇

It still doesn't have everything i've listed on my wishlist though😅😅

I think this is the closest we will get to hotels and the closest I would want to having hotels. Mainly because I don't think people would actually enjoy a specific hotel lot as much as they think. Given the amount of bugs caused by having 12+ sims residing on a lot (For Rent), I think hotels would have very similar issues and just cause a lot of problems. Also, I think they would be quite boring tbh. Think about it, what makes hotels nice IRL is a nice restaurant, cafe, lounge spaces etc. We would not have that, it would just be the same as a vacation rental but with staff + more sims staying there. And given that having >12 sims on a lot causes issues, we could have maybe 3 staff NPCs, and max 9 guests before it starts to increase the risk of save corruption. The only way I could see it even being interesting is if it worked like Business & Hobbies with separate activities sectioned off, so you could create a residential area, a restaurant, and a lounge area, etc. But that seems extremely unlikely, it would be so complicated and expensive to create, then everyone would just complain about a whole new EP for something they feel should've been included in previous EPs. So I don't think it's very likely.

  • I think we could see hotels at some point. They seem to be looking to improve a lot of existing features with newer packs so hotels could make a return when they are looking into new ways for sims to live and stay at different places.

Hotels could be fun if they could find a way to manage tasks depending on what is happening on the lot. Otherwise I don't think it will be very exciting to run a hotel. You can kind of run a hotel with business&hobbies but there is of course more to running a hotel than just provide an area where sims go to sleep and eat.

  • Also they might be looking to fix FR first before even making a hotel business based pack since it may use a similar or related system.

  • Something people really need to learn about how video games work is that they have budgets.

This looks like a reasonably big pack. It's got a lot of new animation stuff- animations are very expensive for a lot of reasons. It's got a lot of new major objects and activities. It looks to be a very expensive pack and is rumored to be the most expensive ever.

And here's the thing: That means it not having hotels is a boon for hotels.

If this pack ALSO HAD HOTELS...the money wouldn't be shoved in there to give it hotels. It'd be stripped from everything else. The hotels would be worse than a dedicated hotel pack, and so would every single other feature of this pack.

If they add hotels, it'll be a dedicated hotel pack. This isnt a hotel pack. It was not teased as a hotel pack. Its features do not make sense for a hotel pack. Ergo, it does not have hotels.

Also, Imma be real, hotels are a small part of life for your average person and I don't get the obsession with them that makes them any more important than the rental system we've had for years and years as it is...

  • I think hotels and resorts it scored the highest even higher then Vechiles in a survey asking Simmers what they would want in the game.
