I think The Sims 4 has personality.
It lacks...
micro-behaviors.
CAS?
Best in the series.
Building?
Best in the series.
Customization?
Best in the series.
Accessibility?
Probably the best.
World aesthetics?
Beautiful.
Lighting?
Fantastic.
Character variety?
Miles ahead of Sims 2.
i think.. if you just brought back SOME things from the sims 2 and it would be peak (here is my list, sorry for the length):
-the old dance moves (in addition to what you have) when the sims would dance together. they would do this cute emote of pointing at the other sim, then back at themselves and then they would face each other and dance with each other and it was so nice. now, the sims just dance on their own. there's no.. dancing together. the could be several feet apart "dancing with each other"
-the MUSIC!! (in addition to what you have) bring back all the old songs!!
-friends bringing over other housemates when invited over. that was so cool...
-cars, WHERE YOU AT CARS?!
-hearts appearing around sims they find attractive, before they even meet them
-cut scenes: growing up, giving birth, etc.
-the pregnancy timeline & the camera cutting to the sim every time the baby bump grew a little
-plants that need up keep. bushes that need trimming, trees, etc.
-the TV SHOWS WERE SO PEAK. i use to sit and watch with them. it didnt make any sense, but it definitely made me laugh
-cuddling with your partner while sleeping
-astrology (👀) but i know maxis used astrology to specifically base it off of attraction and would make a sim not attracted to that person if they werent a compatible sign. i dont want THAT.. it could play a part, but not the ultimate truth. that should still rely on interests, likes, dislikes, etc.
-walking. just... walking. my sims "jog" everywhere, its actually really annoying. i liked the option to say, "walk here" "run here" and they would actually walk or run. now everything is jogging, it makes it unrealistic.
-the grocery stores?? bookstores?? video game stores?? although.. i guess video games and books are now just something you buy online.. like a kindle or directly on the playstation or whatever.. but groceries! or have the option to have them delivered.
-also, controllers needing to be picked up near the console was cool.
-clothing stores. cmon! they still exist too..
-walking around talking on the phone. and gaining social points from being on the phone with that sim
-a fitness meter thats not in CAS
-an interest meter (this would be so cool.. how MUCH do you like the violin. alot? or.. sort of? maybe not at all. keep the preferences, but show me how much you like it fr)
-turn ons and turn offs (....... cmon man)
-alarm clocks that wake you up from work (now i know we live in different times.. alarm clocks dont really exist anymore, pay phones are gone, landlines? gone.. i get it.. and i dont necessarily wanna go back in time, but we could have their cellphones ring an alarm? put it on their bed or on their night stand?)
-instead of taxis, ubers?
-resorts.. like, i like the cabins you all have. but what about a hotel where other sims also stay at?? you dont see their rooms, but its a community. you go outside, maybe your child's best friend's family is also staying there. you go out into the ski resort, mom talks with other mom, kids go run out to play in the snow.
-pulling things out of cabinets and drawers when cooking
-pool tables.
