Emotional Paintings on the Digital Sketchpad

I'm a big fan of the Painting skill and I love the addition of the Digital Sketchpad. It's a fantastic object that lets my artistic Sims paint anywhere. However, after using it extensively, I've noticed one small but significant feature from the classic easel that seems to be missing.

The Core Idea: I would love to see the ability to create emotional paintings added to the Digital Sketchpad. The feature works great otherwise, but the inability to channel a Sim's current mood into their digital art feels like a missed opportunity.

What works well right now?

The Digital Sketchpad is, for the most part, a wonderfully implemented object. I love the portability—it's perfect for sending Sims to the park to paint, or for a freelancer to work in a café. The variety of digital paintings it can produce is excellent, and it integrates seamlessly with the Painting skill. It's a modern and convenient alternative to the traditional easel.

What isn’t working or feels frustrating?

The only thing that feels frustrating is the lack of emotional paintings options. On a regular easel, this is one of the most engaging features. It creates unique, mood-specific artwork that tells a story about what your Sim was feeling at that moment. The fact that this core artistic function isn't available on a modern, digital platform feels inconsistent and limiting.

What new ideas or improvements would you suggest?

My suggestion is very simple: Please add the option to paint emotional paintings to the Digital Sketchpad.

This would allow Sims to create the same emotional paintings that they can on a physical easel, but with the convenience and modern style of the digital medium.

Why would this improve your gameplay experience?

This small addition would make the Digital Sketchpad a complete replacement for the easel, rather than just a convenient alternative. It would give players who prefer the sketchpad full access to the same creative and storytelling tools.

For storytellers and legacies, being able to create a sad painting after a tragic event, or an angry painting during a rage-filled moment, is invaluable. It allows us to document our Sims' emotional journeys in a tangible way. Adding this one option would solidify the Digital Sketchpad as the perfect, all-in-one tool for the modern Sim artist.

Does anyone else feel the same way? It seems like a small thing, but it would make a big difference for my gameplay.
