Expansion Pack Concept Proposal: The Sims 4 – Cruises & Mysteries
Hi everyone! 👋
I’d like to share an original Expansion Pack concept for The Sims 4 called Cruises & Mysteries, inspired by my love for all things sea-related (Titanic’s story is my personal favorite sea story).
This concept imagines a foggy, 1880s London–inspired coastal world where players can run cruise lines, work at a bustling port, attend elegant shipboard parties, and uncover a long-buried maritime mystery.
Below you’ll find a full presentation outlining the world of Puerto Bruma, its neighborhoods, new careers, social events, rumor systems, and a central mystery.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and ideas. Thanks for taking the time to read! Maybe if you like this idea a lot, it can reach the EA developers and inspire them — I sure hope so :)
Here we go, in true Sims style:
Rule the seas and uncover the truth with The Sims 4: Cruises & Mysteries — Expansion Pack
Welcome to Puerto Bruma, an enigmatic coastal world where business thrives in the fog, parties unfold on the water, and secrets never stay buried for long. In this port town, opportunity sails hand in hand with danger, rumors travel faster than the waves, and every decision can change the fate of the place.
In this new chapter, the sea becomes a stage, an ally, and a threat. Cruise lines promise prestige, Simoleons, and glamour… but they also awaken memories of the past that some would rather keep hidden.
The question both your Sim — and you — must now ask is:
Will you rule the waters… or uncover what the ocean is trying to hide?

A Sea of Possibilities
Puerto Bruma is made up of several coastal regions, each with its own personality, history, and secrets. From bustling docks to beaches wrapped in unsettling fog, this world offers unique opportunities to live, work, and uncover the truth. Nothing in Puerto Bruma happened by chance… and nothing stays hidden forever.

Puerto Viejo
The working heart of the world. This is where the docks, the operational port, the tavern, and daily activity converge. Rumors are born here, suspicious glances are exchanged, and stories are whispered that no one dares to say out loud.
Colina Niebla Alta
Home to the town’s most influential families. Sea-view mansions, private gatherings, and decisions that affect the entire community. Power is navigated from here, often far from prying eyes.
Costa Escondida
Rocky beaches, isolated homes, and paths leading to forgotten places. This is where the unsettling Fear Beach lies — a place where the sea returns objects that should not be there.
Puerto Rocoso
An operational area dedicated exclusively to ships, almost always covered in thick fog. The shipyard where vessels are built… and where mysteries take shape.
Businesses on Uncertain Waters
In Puerto Bruma, your Sims can create and manage their own cruise line. Buy ships, name them, decorate their interiors, and decide what kind of experience they will offer.
From tourist cruises to exclusive social events or mystery-filled night voyages, every ship is a business in motion… even while docked.
Manage crew, reputation, and profits — but beware: mistakes, rumors, or unexpected incidents can impact the success of your entire enterprise.
Elegant High-Society Parties
Ships are not just for sailing. Host the new social event Elegant Ship Party, where the vessel remains docked and transforms into a luxurious social venue.
Dancing, toasts, confessions, and romances unfold in elegant main salons with warm lighting, refined furnishings, and nighttime sea views. But when night falls, not everything is as it seems. Some parties may end by revealing secrets… or with the appearance of someone no one remembers inviting.

Careers Tied to the Port and the Sea
Port Worker
Work in port operations or dock authority roles. Supervise cargo, inspect ships, and decide what gets through… and what doesn’t.
Crew Member
An active career where every shift matters. From deckhand to captain, your Sims will face storms, demanding passengers, and critical decisions at sea.
Reaching the highest level unlocks an exclusive Captain outfit — a complete uniform obtainable only through career progression, along with the iconic captain’s hat. Wearing it grants respect, authority, and an unmistakable presence.

The Price of Knowing Too Much
Years ago, a ship called La Aurora del Sur vanished under strange circumstances. There were no survivors. No clear answers. Only rumors.
As they investigate, your Sims will discover that the disaster was caused by human negligence… but that something else also happened that night. Something not recorded in official documents.
Through sealed files, radio signals, objects found along the shore, and conflicting testimonies, you must decide what to do with the truth. Revealing it, hiding it, or using it for your own gain will have lasting consequences in Puerto Bruma.
The mystery resolves in different ways depending on your choices, changing the world’s behavior, the frequency of strange phenomena, and the reputation of those who live there.
Rumors, Reputation, and Consequences
In Puerto Bruma, a new rumor system affects relationships, careers, and opportunities. Secrets spread through taverns, parties, and docks. You can deny them, exploit them, or let them destroy reputations.
Some Sims may even become Marked by the Sea, a hidden trait that connects them more deeply to the world’s unexplained phenomena.
Building and Living in the Fog
Build/Buy mode introduces furniture and objects inspired by coastal life: nautical maps, lanterns, nets, and maritime décor. Elements for building cruise ship interiors are also included.

In The Sims 4: Cruises & Mysteries Expansion Pack, every wave brings an opportunity, and every secret can change everything. Build your empire, host unforgettable parties, earn respect as a captain… or dare to uncover a truth that may never have been meant to surface.
Are you ready to… sea?
