I understand that mods are not supported by EA and that players are responsible for keeping them updated. I already do the things you mentioned — my Mods folder is organized and sorted by creator, and I regularly check for updates after patches.
The issue is that even with an organized Mods folder, when you have hundreds or thousands of files, manually finding the one causing the problem can still take a very long time. Knowing which creator a file belongs to doesn’t tell you which specific file is causing the game to fail to launch.
That’s why I’m suggesting a better diagnostic system. I’m not asking EA to support, update, or take responsibility for mods. I’m simply suggesting that if the game detects a startup failure that may be caused by modified content, it could provide some information about what went wrong or identify potentially problematic files.
Even narrowing the problem down to a few files would be a huge improvement over having to remove everything and use the 50/50 method from scratch.
I also completely agree that mod creators shouldn’t be harassed over updates. My suggestion is specifically about improving the game’s error reporting and making troubleshooting easier for players. 😆
Fadedmemories97, If you already do that then you are doing what you need to do. Besides the one for this forum, if you google outdated mods list and the date of a game update patch, there are a couple of other websites that do have lists as well to help navigate your mods. Those lists are complied doing the same things they recommend all mod users do. Every update a thread is created for to give guidance on outdated or obsolete mods.
