The Sims 4 – Immersive VR & Haptic Experience: Enter and Live Inside Your Own Sims World

I would love to see an optional immersive VR and haptic mode for The Sims 4 that would allow players to actually enter and experience the world they have created.

I don't mean simply changing the camera to first-person VR.

The idea is that the player could enter their existing save at human scale and experience the same persistent world they have spent years building: walk through their own homes and neighborhoods, interact with their Sims, pets and objects, cook, swim, dance, socialize, hug, kiss and experience everyday life inside their Sims world.

Traditional gameplay would remain exactly as it is. Immersive mode would be completely optional, allowing players to switch between controlling their Sims traditionally and experiencing their world from inside it.

Compatible haptic devices could provide physical feedback for interactions, while an extensible interface could eventually allow compatible hardware and third-party developers to respond to supported in-game events.

The important distinction is that this would not be a separate VR version of The Sims or simply a first-person camera.

It would be a way to enter the world and the save you already created.

You built their world.

Now imagine being able to step inside it and live there.

Do you have any idea how complicated this would actually be to implement? This isn't just a matter of adding VR support or changing the camera to first-person. You're essentially asking for an entirely new game built on top of The Sims 4.

The game would need a completely different player perspective and interaction system, human-scale environments, VR movement and controls, physical interaction with Sims and objects, appropriate animations, collision and physics systems, haptic integration, and a whole new way for the player to interact with the existing simulation.

At that point, you might as well be asking them to develop an entirely separate game rather than simply adding an "immersive mode" to The Sims 4.
