Here's a bit of feedback about advertising packs within the game itself.
I personally hate popups. But another reason why you should not use them is that older people tend to have negative associations with popups. You can have the nicest looking thumbnail and inviting text but as soon as you pop that up when the game starts, you're potentially creating negative associations. Do a Google search for 'what's the psychology behind popups being annoying' and maybe rethink your strategy.
I personally like the static ads on the left panels of My Home. But here's where the marketing for these packs could be a better - when I click to view an expansion pack there's only a four line description with say, three bullet points about the pack's features. For reference, I clicked on the Horse Ranch expansion pack.
As a summary, this would be okay. But a full description going on for two pages would give a prospective buyer so much more to go on when deciding to get a pack or not. Just check out any description for a popular Steam game DLC, they really make full use of that About This Content section.
Back to the left-side panels of My Home - such a nice space to showcase packs in a non-obtrusive way. But, each time I start the game the top left panel is showcasing only the latest kit, Urban Homage Kit. If you want to sell more packs, you need to use your space more effectively. Show a random unowned pack or kit at the top left every time the game starts, ensuring no repeats until all unowned packs have been shown.
