I dunno about anyone else, but while doing this whole quest chain it really tugged at the whole early childhood trauma of parting with your favorite Stuffed Animal as a kid :/ My compliments on the team behind this story quest because it really pulled at the heart strings with the childhood memories of those days in an almost Toy Story like way of what happens as we grow older and things like that we part with.
EverclearBoy the parting hug got me right in the feels I have to agree. It was more that it would go back to being just a regular stuffed toy and they wouldn't share adventures again but I think that's to kind of promote the new imaginary friend toy from Adventure Awaits. I'll be trying that feature out this week. I still have my first bear (Toby) and any special ones that were gifts over the years or souvenirs from special trips because I can't bear 🧸 to put them in the trash!
I think the Forever Friends event had a bit more substance to it. It reminded me of a challenge from Sims Freeplay years and years ago with a visiting young character that I think was a pirate 🤔. I remember being really mushy when my Sim parted with him because they had to dance together before he left. I hope future events have this emotional side to them, it makes them more engaging for me.
I appreciated being able to play through this event using adult Sims. It really locked in the message of FOREVER Friends.
Minor oversight, though: adults can't Play Pretend in the Treehouse to fulfill that optional task. No matter--Werecub Sylvie Ruffin stepped in to assist my Simself on that one!
The last few quests were so sad, 😥 especially the last hug in the glade and the implied forever farewell, made me think of all the toys I'd loved as a kid and wondering what happened to them all. Oh toy story! Jessie's song! I cry every time at that one 😭 I still have my cabbage patch doll I got when I was seven and she's on my bed next to my pillow as we speak. I must admit I gave her a big hug after completing this event 🥰
