[GALLERY] Default sort order changed to most popular

It should be defaulted by newest, not items that have been being downloaded for the last 10 years. Most popular is catering to people whos builds have been around and gives no light to new creations. Should've stuck with the old default, cuz this is obviously biased.

As you can see this solution makes no sense. Why would you want simmers to see the same page of homes from 2014 that became most popular years ago? Sims 4 has put out some fabulous content to make builds better! I suggest your new solution should be that it was fine just the way it was. NEW content is better and deserves the chance to be most popular. My last 3 builds have 1-2 downloads when my minimum is about 50 at this point. 

This was a bad idea. It shows the most popular builds of all time and some of those are broken and cause crashes. It also makes it harder for smaller or new builders to have their creations appear. 

We can't even change the option ourselves to show the "newest" or even "popular now" categories to a custom default, not even for our personal libraries. My personal library doesn't need to be sorted by most popular. It needs to show my current builds that I'm working on. Maybe even the latest build I saved from the gallery, but definitely NOT the most popular items in MY library. 

For my builds that I share, I would like it so I can set it to newest. Those are the builds I want people to see and I really don't care that the devs want others to see my most popular creations. 

On top of that, it seems like the gallery crashes/is super slow every weekend now. The whole gallery is currently a mess.

This is not helpful. At. All. "My Library" sorted by "Most Popular" does not even show my own builds!? At the top!? Until I scroll past those of other Simmers and the Maxis builds that came with the game!? I rarely upload my builds, so - of course - they're not at all popular. What are y'all thinking?

Go back to "Newest" first. Please.

The new design of the Gallery is horrible. If you have a massive gallery, it defaults very far back. I've put how to see my newest creations but people are confused. Why did EA change the Gallery AGAIN? The old one wasn't completely fixed! I still don't have the ability to view how many followers and who I follow. It's been broken for years! 

I believe they are trying to drive people away. I have a large gallery going back many years. Now, I barely get any downloads and most comment how the new gallery is a pain. Why was it changed to this? To drive players away? It's working.

Honestly, this is depressing. I've only been a gallery creator for several months, but I do have about 10 uploads a week, of different kinds.

And now it's over. Just like that, just as I was feeling I was gaining momentum in downloads and followers.

I'm not getting any more downloads, I've tried several things. This killed my gallery. I'm still creating for myself, but no point sharing stuff no one is ever going to see. There's no room for small gallery creators anymore, and I really liked it so this breaks my heart.

If the intention was to kill off all new content to the gallery, than this is as intended. If not, than it's still a bug. A design bug rather than a code bug, but a bug.

EA_Solaire​ may I ask why this change was made? A few years ago it was changed to default popular now and most of us hated it and it was changed back.  Most popular makes absolutely no sense as many of these creations are really old and nothing new is ever shown.  I also don't want the stuff from years ago to be displayed first when someone visits my page and I definitely want my own library to display my newest saves first.  It was a really unnecessary and counter- intuitive change.  Even if you can easily click a button and change this, there are so many people who don't even know this, plus I don't want to make extra clicks all the time. It was fine the way it was. Any possibility it could be switched back?

 

As a small galley creator, I don't have a lot of followers and this just killed my ability to be a creator. Nobody sees any of my latest creations anymore. From 10-60 downloads per content I'm on zero now.

No point in uploading anything anymore. I stopped uploading any content, and I'm hoping this will change so I can go back to sharing.
