After the March 17 patch, I logged into my personal gallery page. The images show in download order, rather than newest. That means unless a user knows to look beyond the front page, they won't see my newest creations. I've tried resetting it several times, and it keeps going back to downloads order. I'm not very happy about this.

I don't use the gallery much but please change the library back to newest first, or make the option to change to newest stick so you change only once and not every single time!
Why is this post marked resolved and the vote button has disappeared? The problem is not resolved and many of us say so. I don't really know how the forum works but this question intrigues me!
As a builder having the default be most popular is a terrible idea. Like many others have stated I've had zero engagement on any of my downloads since the update. Not having newest be the default is giving us no exposure. I think that is unfair for those who upload and those who are searching for something new.
I've been a gallery creator for over 10 years. I've seen so many changes, some I've appreciated and some I absolutely have not. My priority on this concern is:
I'd love to know why this new default to most popular is the intended design for gallery functionality after our most recent update.
From where I sit, history is repeating itself as 7 years ago the gallery had some updates and one was to default sort to popular now. The gallery community did not like the change then and this new change is having the same result now. Our newest uploads should be valued, supported, highlighted, showcased and have a fair opportunity to be visible in the gallery. The newest filter represents the most up to date content by the active simmers still creating, sharing and supporting the gallery community. Many on the most popular filter aren't even around and haven't been for years. While their creations were great, it's old news. Please help me understand why this change was needed for the gallery.

The fact that this was intended makes it even worse in my opinion. Having it set to popular now is going to inevitably finish off what little functionality to the gallery we had left. Some people don't pay attention to the filters and that affects visibility to new creations and engagement.
Not to mention the comments being a separate tab. I've already shown a few people that you have to click it to see, some had asked what happened to the comments because they thought they were gone completely.
The gallery needs an overhaul for sure, but this "intended dicision" is just making it worse than it already was.
You would think if they really wanted to promote the new Marketplace then they would have kept the newest creations as default since that's the only chance of seeing the new items being shown off in people's creations.
Today there are very talented players who did not play yet at the time when the most popular achievements appeared on the gallery. It's a real pleasure to discover day after day new talents and new proposals.
What a shame to see these creations, certainly very beautiful, but seen and reviewed for a long time appear again and again when opening the gallery, rather than recent creations, which moreover can highlight more recent content.
I thought I lost all my newer library Sims/households/lots with this update, and I keep having to switch (toggle newest) every... single... time... I enter. I really for ease of use, prefer "newest" over "popular" for default.
Given the UI element/mechanic under discussion, a design choice suggests it was reached to make an improvement. I don't see how changing the default filter from 'newest' to 'most popular' specifically on the player's personal tab is supposed to provide an improved design.
My feedback: this change is extremely annoying as I now have to set/change an additional filter when I want to find my most recently edited sims on my personal tab. The better design choice from my perspective was the previous behavior. If I've failed to see the wisdom in the new design, please elaborate on how it improves the experience for the player.
The main gallery being most popular is fine to me, but the personal gallery should always default to new. I have zero interest in my most popular builds, and only interest in the new sims I make. Having to change it every time is really annoying
