I'd honestly prefer if a space map, that lots are actually on a black (starry or a galactic backdrop is fine) background to give the illusion of space so we could make spaceships and space station, that appear floating. I remembered I use to build underground in Sims 3 to create the illusion but sometimes it resulted in placement glitches even with moveobjects, so a proper space map would really be great.
i like your ideas but oh man it sucks the illusion got glitches in The Sims 3, i hope in this case they can do better in The Sims 4 if the team ever decides to make a space kind of related pack
