Yes to all of this also don't forget the Pacifiers for both toddlers and infants and maybe even newborns.
Yes, pacifiers are a must for self - soothing. Also, I wouldn't mind an additional age group for kindergarten aged child sims. It doesn't make sense for toddlers to age up into a primary school aged child.
