  • I don't think I could play without the Skill Lock mod, a Calorie adjuster mod, 5 traits in CAS mod, and dozens of minor tuning mods.

I was able to play Sims 3 moddless till about a year+ after they stopped updating.

But if you asked me to rank a moddless Sims 4 oof, that would be tough. I mean some of it I do really like as is, just there are some kinda deal breaking parts (which i ask for be fixed/changed in the forums, so I can play almost moddless).

    5-6.5/10 I think is a fair range.

If skill lock was made into a feature, if I could toggle off (calories/body stay (no weight/muscle gain)), if they fixed autonomy to be more like Sims 3 (trait driven) and updated traits (mostly base game traits). I'd probably give it 8-9/10. But I worry even if they did "fix" autonomy and update traits, that they still might miss the mark X /

Since there are mods that correct bugs and Maxis Match Custom Content which completes packs by offering objects that should have been added to them in the first place (like kitchen cabinets for Realm of Magic, or Vampires windows and doors for all wall sizes) I agree with the feeling. The Sims 4 feels like an unfinished project that doesn't deserve a 10.

I still enjoy it though, so I'll be generous:

    6.5/10
